The closest S-Bahn and subway station is Friedrichstraße.

By Train

• Arrival at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main station): take any eastbound S-Bahn (S5, S7 or S75) in direction Straußberg, Ahrensfelde, Erkner, Schönefeld or Wartenberg and get off at the next station Friedrichstraße. Then turn into Georgenstraße and walk until Hegelplatz, where you can enter the back entrance of the main building.

By Plane

Arrival at Tegel Airport (TXL)

• take the express bus TXL (direction Alexanderplatz). Get off at Staatsoper and enter the University's main building.

Arrival at Schönefeld Airport (SFX)

• take the train RB14 (direction Nauen) or RE7 (direction Dessau). Get off at Berlin Friedrichstraße. Alternatively, take the S-Bahn S9 in direction Spandau. Get off at Berlin Friedrichstraße.
• Leave the station Friedrichstraße through any exit leading you to Friedrichstraße. Then turn into Georgenstraße and walk until Hegelplatz, where you can enter the back entrance of the main building.

Tickets

Note that the tickets are valid for all buses, trams, subways and local trains (including S-Bahn). Tickets can be purchased at the ticket machines located at all train, underground and urban railway stations. After purchase, you have to validate your ticket.

A selected range of tickets is also available on trams and busses (no validation needed after purchase). Further information on timetables, fares and a journey planner can be found on the BVG Website.

If you arrive at Schönefeld airport make sure to purchase a Berlin ABC ticket for 3,40 €. Else, a Berlin AB Ticket, whether single ride (2,80 €) or day ticket (7,00 €), suffices.
