Michael K. Kostner built the Conota (formerly SpotLens) app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Michael K. Kostner at no cost, except for eventual Pro features, and is intended for use as is. User privacy is of paramount importance to us and Conota. Hence, only data needed to provide a reliable and high-performing Service is collected. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service. If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at Conota unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require to collect certain information which might be personally identifiable, such as information typed into the app. Conota can be used without inserting personal data. If you voluntarily provide information by inserting or typing in personal or non-personal information while using Conota, the collection of such data by ourself might occur. In this case you confirm in accordance with Art. 8 GDPR (if applicable in your country) that you are at least 16 years old or that you have obtained the consent of your legal guardian. The collection of data such as the information mentioned above, serves the sole purpose of improving the reliability and performance of the app, besides analysing the usage of our app. Collecting such information helps to analyse crashes which might occur when information is inserted in the appropriate fields. Certain characters or combination of characters might lead to crashes on some devices. Hence, a detailed analysis of the crash is required, including information about the text inserted. Furthermore, analysing information such as the project name will allow to better understand for what purpose and in which industry Conota is being used. This knowledge helps to improve and optimise Conota for specific use cases and expand the feature horizon of the app. User privacy is of paramount importance to us and Conota. Hence, any information voluntarily typed into the app which might be collected is not shared with any third parties, except for third party service providers such as Google and Firebase, which provide the service of collecting such data remotely. The processing of information by such third party service providers lies outwith our influence and therefore, the privacy policies of this services should be consulted.


The app does use third party services that collect information which may personally identify you, such as your device language, device model, location, Android version, IP address, screen size, Conota app version, purchase data, and usage data of Conota. This information is collected primarily for the purpose of analysing crashes and the usage of Conota, thereby improving the reliability and performance of Conota. Furthermore, we use third-party services to analyse the usage and purchase history of your users, so to analyse the performance of our own app promotion campaigns. Third party services such as Google Play Service, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Tag Manager, Facebook (Meta), Singular, and AppsFlyer might be used for such analytics. Furthermore, such data might be collected by third party services such as AdMob and other ad partners for the scope of advertisement. Conota might show you personalised or non-personalised ads which are intended to generate funds for the maintenance and further development of Conota. In the case ads are shown in Conota and you are located in countries with according regulations (such as the GDPR in the EU, EEA and UK) , you will have the right to choose between personalised and non-personalised ads. The later will avoid data collection by our third party ad service providers (such as AdMob and other ad partners) for the purpose of ad personalisation and ad optimisation. Advertisement will be kept at a minimum not to disturb the workflow of Conota, decrease efficiency or waste your productive time at work or in your leisure.


Conota offers in-app subscriptions which are managed via our third-party provider RevenueCat. If you decide to subscribe to one of our in-app subscriptions, your purchase history will be collected by RevenueCat, so to be able to provide the Service. Furthermore, RevenueCat ephemerally collets the IP address so determine the user country when a purchase is made.

This information includes, but is not limited to, the content of the media (image, video, audio or text), location data (address and coordinates), date and time, device model, and any additional information entered into the app, such as notes, reference numbers, project names, or company names and other information. This data might be embedded in the media itself, such as through watermarks, in the file name, or metadata of the file, such as Exif and XMP metadata. While this information is solely stored within the media file, granting access to or sharing the media file may unintentionally disclose sensitive information. Conota and Michael K. Kostner cannot be held responsible for how you use, provide access to, or share the media created by Conota, and consequently, any potential sharing of information contained in such media.
