A number of workshops for 'THAT' schools took place at the Art Pavilion run by artists, tutors, and lecturers from Bow Arts, Whitechapel Gallery, London Metropolitan University School of Art, Architecture and Design, The King's Foundation, A Team Arts Education, and University of the Arts London Central Saint Martins-London College of Fashion and Raven Row,
The following workshops took place at the Art Pavilion during the Connecting Narratives exhibition.
Bow Arts Mural Design Workshop

Tutor/Artist: Will Redgrove
Content: Will Redgrove, a muralist specialising in community engagement, introduced students to his own mural projects. He shared how to explore muralism and how it can be used to share stories to connect and celebrate communities. Students then created their own own community mural design briefs and used a collaged-based technique to visulaise final mural designs.

King’s Foundation - Wallpaper Design workshop

Content: Project Description
Students were introduced to a short presentation on the social history of wallpaper, students then planned out a design on paper then translated the design onto a foam stamp. Students learnt to collaborate with one another, making decisions about how to combine their designs to create an eye-catching sheet of wallpaper.
In this session students designed and create their own repeating pattern and produced a sheet of wallpaper.

Content: Patrick Brill AKA Bob and Roberta SMITH introduced students to a double sided drawing exercise.
Side one, ‘something from nothing’ (one way to invent shapes, forms form nowhere using simple algorithms. Side two, making a representational drawing of your favorite celebration using drawing from memory as a tool.
Finally they chose a side of the paper to explore how they might include a ‘bob and Roberta Smith’ trademark slogan of their own invention using posca pens and A3 sheets of paper.
