Hi my name is Coni Franco I am a Child Development Major and Educational Studies Minor from Orange County, CA. I put my right shoe on first this morning, I am pretty sure. I am in Fort Worth because I would have never left my hometown if it weren’t for this school.
Growing up it was an ongoing joke within my family that “Coni falls off everything”. Like I used to fall off of plenty of walls and fountains like one time we were in palm springs and I fell into a fifteen foot deep catfish pond in front of a restaurant and my sister had to save me. So I have had a ton of concussions growing up and I was also a competitive gymnast my whole life and then cheered in high school so I would always get dropped so that didn’t help.
So this is my home and in our backyard right here is where we built a pool right before COVID hit. And for my 17th birthday which is in February I threw a huge party and my house was overflowing with so many people that people started standing in the concrete pit of a pool. This is my elementary through middle school. I went here from 3rd to 8th grade and right in this corner is where my best friend and I would run and hide so we could ditch PE and in the middle of the period our teacher would always come looking for us and he would catch us and send us to the Principal’s office. In this same area on the field is where I trained for my marathon. We would always start and end our runs here whether we were doing 5 miles or 26.
I am from the bluffs that look over Los Winds Beach
From Pedro's Tacos and Active Culture
I am from the waves of San Clemente
Cool and clear
Roaring, salty, fresh, strong, active
I am from the CA Golden Poppy
The pine tree
Whose starring moonlight I remember like a still night in August
Growing up I would say I believed in the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause for a lot longer than most children my age. My family would always do such extravagant things and I was surrounded by my younger cousins that I never thought of it all as being fake. However, when I did figure it out, it was never a conversation that my family and I had, we all just started hinting at each other that we knew and then they assumed and would still play along for my younger cousins and siblings.
My two heroes that I wrote down were Jesus and my dad. The only one that loves me more than Jesus is my dad. His strength and tenacity is something I constantly think about. When it comes to doing things for myself, I find that I will work harder if it's for my dad because it makes me think of how he would do anything for me. He strives to show me the beauty and blessing of life and constantly reminds me that he would lay down his life for me under any circumstances. The only reason I am in any way deserving of someone like my dad and the renewed relationship we have is because of what Jesus Christ did for me on the cross.
On this document shows my peers, Shelby & Jess's adjustments to my writing. They provided me with grammatical corrections as well as ways I can create a better understanding for my audience.
On the same document, I had my tutor, Lana Gangnes, revise this document and make and necessary changes that would benefit my success.
