Introduction & History
COMRADE stands for Community Outreach for Orang Asli Development was established in 1992. This club is responsible to engage IIUM students with Orang Asli in social project to promote development in terms of infrastructure, mentality and spiritual enhancement for Orang Asli.
Orang Asli is regarded as the minority among the Malaysian population. People especially from government, social institutions and students felt that it is our obligation to deal with this community and help them in various ways in attempt to develop the rural area and its people. Hence, it should be our obligation to channel our concern of the group by assisting them in developing the rural areas and upgrading the living standard of their community. In fact, one of our primary objectives is to bring some positive impacts to their life, as well as incorporating Islam as the way of life.
Social engagement and outreach project should be done with the community to ensure that they will not be left from community development. In addition, our club has organized many outreach programmes. This club covers eight villages that their focus area are Orang Asli in Perak, Pahang, and Kelantan area as a platform to teaching Islam as well to provide best working experience. We are given responsibility to observe and go to nine villages which are from Perak ( Pos Pelantok & Kg. Pisang) , while in Pahang (Kg. Susu, Kg. Teji , Abu & Senangkar) and Kelantan (Pos Sg. Rual, Pos Lebir) .

Research and Development
To get started right away, this bureau is actually categorized into two which are R&D for programs and R&D for management. First we start with R&D for programs, in programs R&D is responsible in doing their obs before, during and also after programs. Before programs, the person in charge has to survey the village that we want to enter 2 weeks before. This is to ensure that there is no problem if we want to make programs on certain date.
Module
MODULE BUREAU is a bureau that always related with CHILDREN during our visit at the village and with all members of COMRADE. We always try to develop the education and daily knowledge of the children. Many activities that we already implement to several villages and we will always improvise the module to make sure the children get better education.
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is a unit of COMRADE that responsible in finding the source of income for COMRADE club activities. Rental, sales and fundraising are our main source of income for COMRADE.
Training and Tarbiyah
This bureau is meant to provide training to all the members of COMRADE Club. It is also meant to provide spiritual enrichment in order to educate the soul of all the members. We believe that when we are going to spread the da’wah we also need to prepare ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually.
Internal Affairs
Internal Affairs Bureau is a bureau that will be in charge of all COMRADE club’s internal programmes. The purpose of handling these programmes is to create and strengthen the bond bet the members of the club.
