educational display

event overview

The TEECA “Educational Display” requires students to complete research on a topic of Technological/Engineering significance selected annually by TEECA Faculty and then to present the research as an educational display at the national conference each year. Topics will be selected from broad categories such as: (1) The Nature of Technology, (2) Technology and Society, (3) Design, (4) Abilities for a Technological World, (5) The Designed World. The intended audience for the Educational Display will be those attending the ITEEA STEM Showcase. The typical person attending the showcase is a Technology/Engineering educator. Student contestants will be required to write a short research paper, submit a video of the team presenting their Educational Display, attend the national ITEEA conference, set up their Educational Display at the STEM Showcase, and stay with the display to answer questions as needed. The Educational Display may be designed by an individual or by a two or three-person team. Teams may be made up of both undergraduate and graduate students. The contest is intended to encourage high quality research and display presentations. It is our hope that the material developed in this contest will be of benefit to the students involved and to their university.

team composition

Teams may consist of 1 to 3 students and may be all undergraduate, all graduate, or any mixture of academic level. Graduate students are limited to Master’s level (Ed.S. and Ed.D./Ph.D.students may not participate). Only those students registered for the conference and the competition may participate. Only one team is permitted from each university.
