about

Welcome to the 2019 national competitive events manual for the Technology and Engineering Education Collegiate Association (TEECA). TEECA is for college students who are preparing for their future careers as public school technology and engineering education teachers. Participating in the competitive events is a learning opportunity for the college students to increase their experience, skills, and knowledge in areas including: teamwork; technical/design interests; problem solving; project management; and how to coach their future students in their design and problem solving teams. Under the compete menu, you will find information on the different competitions. However, that compete menu can also be thought of as a learn menu, because each competition should be a learning experience and the main goal. The university teams that learn the most, are probably the ones that put in the most time, effort, and thought into the competitions, regardless if they win or perform well at a conference.

The competitive event guides and challenges are written by faculty and TEECA faculty advisors from some of the universities that have TEECA chapters as part of their student organization for technology and engineering education related majors. These faculty are listed on the page for each competition.

The national competitions take place during the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) Annual Conference, which is usually in March. The national competitions also serve as a starting place for the four U.S. TEECA regions to design and edit the competitive events for their fall conferences. To learn more about TEECA visit the National TEECA site here.

If you have any general or specific questions, recommendations, or comments, please fill out the competition question form found under the questions menu.

We hope you find the manual a great informative and learning experience.
