DAYS OF SERVICE are being performed periodically in our parks, by volunteers from different organizations across Adams, Broomfield and Boulder Counties. Groups of volunteers with come into the parks for a day and perform various minor home repairs, landscaping and clean up tasks for residents in need, at no cost. Days, times and services depend upon the group coming into the parks, and which parks they go into depends on their location, the location of the parks, the needs of the residents and the abilities of the volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for assistance, any mobile home resident needs only to contact us, or one of the groups that are generously providing these services. Not all groups are able to commit resources to buy materials, so you may have to provide them yourself. As part of our commitment to helping our neighbors, and helping them without cost to them, COMHRA volunteers do their best to track down free materials, both new and used, on sites like Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up and LetGo. We've also arranged to get some extra discounts on materials purchased thru Habitat for Humanity stores, Resource, Bud's Warehouse, and others. For those groups who purchase materials for residents, we ask that they limit the cost per household to $150-200 maximum.

EXCLUSIONS

-No work requiring a licensed professional, permitting, ladders where the volunteer is more than 5 feet from ground level, no roofs, no chemicals beyond ordinary household chemicals, and no specialty tools beyond normal household or power and hand tools.

Types of Work Done in the Past

Minor plumbing repair, minor drywall patch, deck and porch repairs, steps, painting, basic landscaping, hauling trash, window screens, skirting. Some specialized events have also been held that include; resource fairs, oil changes, potlucks, clothing drives, fundraisers for specific causes. COMHRA's BARTERTOWN division is always looking for gently used household goods, furniture, food, repair and building materials, clothes and anything that can be of use to residents in need. However, since space is limited (basically to the houses of the COMHRA admins right now) we've limited our treasure hunting skills to items requested by residents. Patience may be required to get exactly what you need, but let us know and we'll do our best.

THE NEXT SERVICE DAY IS SCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH IN FRONT RANGE, CASA ESTATES AND CIMARRON VILLAGE MOBILE HOME PARKS. SIGNUP DEADLINE IS AUG. 24TH.

If you are a resident in one of these parks, or know someone who could use help, please contact us right away, so we can set up a time to speak to you and come see exactly what needs to be done. Every guideline has a possible exception, based upon the need of the resident. We do ask everyone to sign a waiver releasing the volunteers and organizations from liability for minor oopses that may occur. Monthly income does not limit a resident from receiving assistance. Resident must have a responsible party over 17 years of age on sight on the service day, provide access to restroom facilities, and have at least one parking spot attached to the residence free if you are selected to have work performed at your house. We encourage everyone to have some kind of cold drinks and snacks on hand, and do our best to help out with that too.
