Who We Are

Who Are We? The Columbia Audubon Society (CAS), located in Columbia, South Carolina, is a chapter of the National Audubon Society. The chapter was founded in 1971. We are active in both birding and conservation activities in and around the Midlands of South Carolina. Meetings are held several times each year, generally from September through May. If you are interested in joining or just curious about us, sign up for our emails here. Non-members are typically welcome at most events.

Oh, yeah, we are also 100% volunteer led. We don't have any employees or interns or anyone that knows much about properly running an organization, but we do our best!

Columbia Audubon is a place for you to be you. We We don't care what you look like or whether or not you can tell a bluebird from a cardinal. The only requirement for joining us is curiosity and kindness!

Our Mission

Through education, advocacy, conservation, and social birding, Columbia Audubon Society builds a community that protects birds and their habitats.

Our Vision

Columbia Audubon Society envisions a future when birds inspire the Midlands community to be better stewards of our ecosystems, locally and globally.
