About Us

College Heights Kindergarten was established in 1954 by Mrs. Oscar Black. It is now a board run, not-for- profit Christian school, licensed by the State of New Mexico. Our mission has been to have a school that would help children develop in all aspects of their lives to become productive citizens and to understand God's love and His rules for living.

We offer a traditional phonics-based reading curriculum. In addition, our students learn a wide variety of subjects, with basic science and social studies studied through a variety of approaches. Our students learn math through direct instruction, games and practical application. We believe that a child will thrive and love learning if they are given the basic tools to do it well. Our Bible curriculum flows throughout our day. Bible stories and verses and their application to our lives are a part of everyday conversation. We encourage our students to look to the scriptures and to prayer to seek God's help when they have problems and to praise God through their victories.

With both preschool and a flexible kindergarten, we seek to encourage and enable our students to succeed in life and in learning.
