Step 1: Cutting

To begin constructing the box I first had to measure out and cut the wood that was going to be used. to do this I used a miter saw to cut a plank of wood down to smaller squares.

Step 2: Bandsaw

After cutting the wood and gluing it into a block, I then cut out the shape of the box out with a bandsaw. This took a while because of the thickness of the wood.

Step 3: Sanding

The bandsaw left a very rough texture on the box so I hand sanded the box to get rid of any sharp or uneven areas that the bandsaw left behind. I started with a low grit sandpaper, and then worked my way up as the box became smoother.

Step 4: Glueing

After making the remaining cuts with the bandsaw, I glued everything back together to create the drawer and back of the box. Everything was held together with clamps and glued overnight.

Step 5: Finishing Touches

To finish off the box, I measured out a small knob and cut it out on the bandsaw to create the handle for the box. I also did one final sand on the box to make sure that eveything fit correctly. After that i glued the handle to the box and it was complete.
