The Councilors of First Knowledge are keepers of the wisdom of the Jedi. We maintain the Great Library, see through the Force, create new records, and seek out the ancient histories and Holocrons that will bring us greater knowledge of the light side of the Force. Despite what some may believe, we are more than just caretakers. We are also guardians of the knowledge we possess.
What is the Council of First Knowledge?
The Council of First Knowledge is made up of five Masters selected to oversee the proliferation of knowledge and its storage in the Temple Archives. Meeting in the circular Council Chamber atop the northwest tower at the Jedi Temple, membership on the Council is granted through appointment after a vote of all members.
What divisions does the Council oversee?
The Council oversees the Apprentices of First Knowledge, Librarian's Assembly, Jedi Diplomatic Corps, and Jedi Informative, respectively. Most members of the council and the respective divisions under it are Jedi Consulars.
How do I become an Apprentice of First Knowledge?
We release Apprentice applications every month unless we're at capacity, in which case we release them on an as-needed basis. For more information, please utilize our contact page and send a message to the Apprenticeship Coordinator.
What are some of the Council's bigger contributions to the Order?
If there is a written document, there is a very good chance we either wrote it or proofread it. Aside from that very large facet of our identity, the Council publishes the Jedi Informative newspaper, does special events, and ensures the quality of academic institutions throughout the Order ranging from the Jedi Academy to the training provided to Younglings, and even the rehabilitative education that takes place in the Jedi Service Corps.
