Q: Is this for novice or expert practitioners of mindfulness?
A: This app was designed for skeptical or non-experience mindfulness practitioners, especially those teachers that believe that mindfulness is for the kids and not for them. Our dream is that skeptical teachers practice at least one exercise, see the effects and then come back for more. We also envision teachers that do not know much about it or have their doubts about these type of practices to give a try and see how impactful it can be.
Q: Why do teachers need this?
A: Teachers everywhere are struggling, especially post-covid. Teachers put the well being of their students ahead of themselves. Finally, teachers have no time during the day, except for very short breaks. CWC enables teachers to have the benefits of self-compassion in short, scheduled periods throughout the day. They will enjoy a sense of well being in which they can carry back to their classroom, & thus, their students.
Q: Is this a teaching and tracking app?
A: Neither. The idea behind the app is just for teachers to learn about & practice self-reflection, self-compassion and start the habit of mindfulness in their everyday life. It has a tracking feature, but we made our best to make it not disturbing for those that are more concentrated on learning than on keeping track of their performance.
Q: Is this for teachers to complete for themselves?
A: Yes, the idea is that teachers start with just 5 minutes a day and then they can integrate CWC in their everyday life to a point where they will be looking for more.
Q: Is this app aimed to target specific grade teachers? If so, which grade?
A: No. This app is designed to target pre-service, teachers and former teachers that do not know much about mindfulness practices.
Q: Is this just an exercise app?
A: No, this app has a comprehensive set of research, tools for practicing self-compassion with audio, video & writing, and finally methods of self-reflection with journaling & rating methods. On top of that, we have very short and easy exercises for teachers to get started in self-compassion and mindfulness.
