I see campus as one family and would like to give back to it with the integrated student feedback I’ve gained. I’m Ishil Chaudhary! My contact: Chaudharyi@dupage.edu, ishilchaudhary2@gmail.com, and 630-415-5838.
I value the different perspectives on campus, it’s a blessing!
I believe that as Chaparrals we’re all interconnected on campus, which is why I want to share what I can give to the public.
Having worked with many Student Trustees, I saw how it can provide me the means to render service to students on campus. As a first-generation student with immigrant parents looking to transfer to a university where I can pursue being a lifelong learner, being a voice for those that are silently carrying on in their daily endeavors with similar challenges, it motivates me to strive for greater heights knowing that this is something greater than myself. I would like to provide more engagement with highly selective universities who have minimal contact with COD students. Transferring is one of the biggest reasons why students often choose to attend community colleges, which is why it should be a priority that we have the facilities to successfully transfer to our dream schools in a time where there is an inadequate amount of resources available for students.
Being President of the Computer Science Club, member of Student Leadership Council, and a student who was selected to participate in a video sent to NASA for the Engineering and Technologies Club. I have addressed common concerns with a diverse background of students which has allowed me to experience different perspectives of what the ideal student life would look like on campus which is something I can integrate into my own values as a leader.
We have students that all have varying experiences on campus which is something that I show an appreciation for, we have one of the largest community college campuses after all.
I wish to be a bridge that can connect student needs to solutions so that I can serve to make campus an accommodating place for all.
