Seth Casanova

I am a graduate student studying Environmental Resources Engineering at Cal Poly Humboldt from Thousand Oaks, California. I am interested in learning more about coastal processes, fluid dynamics, and natural hazards along the state's coastline. I received my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Earth Science from UC Santa Barbara in 2022. My undergraduate capstone focused on measuring and broadcasting ocean visibility using a self-sustaining sensor and buoy system. I am currently working with Dr. Ludka to produce a Lidar map of the coastline along the Arcata-Eureka 101 freeway corridor to assist sea level rise hazard assessments and recommendations.
