About This Theme

This theme considers how much all staff are able to interact collaboratively with young people. Are young people participants in the hiring process? Are staff trained about PDY and committed to youth/young adult participation? Does job performance evaluation include staff’s competencies related to youth/young adult participation?

Means to achieve this theme:

1. Participation in hiring

2. Staff training

3. Responsive staff evaluation

4. Youth peer roles

Colorado statewide means were below 3 in each item, indicating that policies and procedures revolving around workforce development were starting to be implemented, but that there is room for growth and over time as new staff patterns occur score will improve.
