The premiums are set to 0.9% of the employee’s wage, with 0.45% paid by the employer and 0.45% paid by the employee. This amount is deducted from your paycheck each month.
FAMLI benefits are calculated on a sliding scale using your individual average weekly wage in relation to the State’s average weekly wage.
As of July 1, 2024, $1471.34 is the Colorado State Average Weekly Wage or SAWW. Claims will be paid at 90% for that amount of your individual average weekly wage that is less than or equal to half of the SAWW ($735.67) and at 50% for that amount of your personal average weekly wage that is over the SAWW.
Example: If your personal average weekly wage is normally $1000 then 735.67 of that will be paid at 90% (662.10) and the remainder (that which is greater than 735.67) will be paid at 50% (132.17) for a total weekly benefit amount of $794.27
For now, the easiest way to use the calculator below is to take your average monthly hours and divide by 4.345 to approximate your weekly hours.
