Grievance Redressal Committee
A redressal committee is a high-level committee that handles grievances and complaints. The committee's objectives include:
Ensuring a fair, impartial, and consistent mechanism for redressal of issues
Upholding the dignity of the institution by promoting cordial relationships
Developing a responsive and accountable attitude among stakeholders
Composition
The committee may be made up of equal numbers of members from the employer and the workmen. The chairperson may be selected from the employer and from among the workmen on a rotation basis.
Timelines
The committee may be required to hear, settle, and decide grievances within a specified time frame, such as three months from the date of filing of the complaint.
Mediation
The committee may mediate between the complainant and defendant if required.
Guidance
The committee's advice may be considered by the institution's leadership, unless it violates basic rules and norms.

A grievance may include any kind of discontent or dissatisfaction, or negative perception, that a person feels is unfair, unjust, or inequitable
