Internal complaint
An internal complaint is a written procedure for addressing complaints about discrimination or harassment in the workplace. The purpose of an internal complaint process is to:
Identify ways to improve workplace practices and policies
Improve staff morale, productivity, and retention
Avoid complaints to external agencies and legal action
To consider when making an internal complaint:
Be clear and brief: Cover all relevant points, but keep it as brief as possible.
Use headings and numbered lists: Make it easy to read by highlighting important issues.
Provide contact information: Include your contact telephone and email details, as well as your address.
Employers with more than 10 employees are required to have an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). The ICC is responsible for:
Investigating complaints of sexual harassment, Resolving complaints as soon as possible, and Recommending actions to the employer.
All the staff members are part of the internal committee, The Chairperson of the organization will act as the Chairman. In absence of the Chairperson, the principal will act as the Committee Chairman.
