"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV)
Our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave His church a mission to make disciples. The Greek term for "disciple" actually refers to a "learner" or "pupil." Growing in our walk of faith involves being diligent in learning more of the Lord through the light of Scripture so that we can be better followers of the Lord and better representatives of His Kingdom, teaching others about the salvation He brings. Every Christian has a part in this mission.
I am reminded of the words of the late Dr. R.C. Sproul, that "everyone is a theologian... its just a matter of whether you are a good one or a bad one." The Apostle Paul wrote to his protégé, Timothy, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15 ESV).
The Christian Mission School of Theology (CMST) has been established to educate disciples of Jesus Christ for the mission of His church. This is accomplished by providing biblically based training in the profession, proclamation, and defense of the Christian Faith. We do this bearing in mind the words of the Apostle Peter, "... in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15 ESV).
I am grateful to God for the partnership CMST has with Third Millennium Ministries, which produces, publishes and distributes a multimedia seminary curriculum in multiple languages worldwide. Together with the ThirdMill Institute, CMST is able to offer high quality, biblically based, theological education, and certificate and diploma programs.
I welcome all who desire to grow in their knowledge of the biblical faith so that they may fulfill the calling the Lord has upon them and "... contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 1:3 ESV).
