The Christian Mission School of Theology (CMST) is a ministry of the Ujima Village Christian Church, which is a non-denominational, independent Reformed congregation, established in 1992. The school’s mission is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by providing biblically based training in the profession, proclamation, and defense of the Christian Faith.
CMST was established by the Rev. Dr. J.R. Norwood in 2020, with its inaugural course offered in 2021. The school was chartered to advance sound biblical doctrine and a Christian worldview by combating the spread of error, worldliness, and heresy among churches, ministries, and ministers. In cooperation with academic institutions and ministries of a similar doctrinal perspective, CMST seeks to equip students to grow in their understanding of the Christian Faith and their commitment to their own spiritual development, personal ministry calling, and to the overarching mission of the church. Our doctrinal standards are summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith together with the Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
CMST has partnered with ThirdMill Institute, an international biblical education initiative, to provide multimedia based courses of study. Thirdmill (Third Millennium Ministries, Inc.) is a non-profit Evangelical Christian ministry in the Protestant tradition. ThirdMill’s mission is to prepare Christian leaders to lead a transformation of the world into God's Kingdom by providing biblical education for the world. Thirdmill is fully committed to spreading the gospel of Christ to every person on earth. The one vital dimension of this goal is equipping church leaders throughout the world with the ability to guide the church toward this end.
Both CMST and ThirdMill are organizational members of the World Reformed Fellowship (WRF), which seeks to serve the Kingdom of Christ by advancing Reformed partnerships worldwide so that the strengths of some might become the strengths of all in the service of Jesus Christ (see Ephesians 4: 11 - 13). WRF seeks to "promote Reformed thinking, a Reformed world and life view, foster evangelism and strategies on missions, church planting and theological education, and promote international communication for the further advancement of the Gospel."
