Additional Considerations for Implementing Online Courses:
Our college’s online program is small compared to the colleges around us. We only offer online classes. We do not have online degree or certificate programs. The following listed items need to be considered and improved when implementing the delivery of online digital art courses. The list takes into consideration the college’s current logistical, organizational, non-instructional, communicational and factors of human conditions.
Provide real time troubleshooting services. Currently, if a student encounters a tech problem, he/she will need to fill a form to report the issues, and wait until a technician is on duty to solve the problem.
Provide real time tutoring and software supporting services on Adobe Creative Cloud and Autodesk 3D graphics.
Provide professional training opportunities to faculty members in online education and teaching. Currently, the college mainly offers Blackboard, Echo360, Zoom and other tech related training.
Give incentives to faculty who practice experimentation and innovation.
Providing real time troubleshooting service and tutoring are critical to the effective implementation of the Introduction to Digital Arts course I am planning. Providing professional training and incentives to experimentation and innovation can support meeting the college’s needs and expand the digital arts program.
