The Director of CMFT, Professor B. Bhima has worked effortfully towards the establishment of this state-of-art laboratory. His dedication and interest in science especially Microbiology has led to the development of CMFT into a high end research laboratory. The lab has been bestowed with a great team of researchers under the mentorship of Prof. Bhima who works towards creating technological advancements in the field of science. We aim to create solutions using simple and innovative strategies which contribute to the betterment of society.

The Post-doctoral and doctoral fellows at the facility under the guidance of Director Prof. Bhima work on Probiotics, their isolation, characterization and formulations with the intention of developing nutritional and therapeutic supplements. The team focuses on the utilization of agro-industrial wastes like lignocelluloses and their conversion into valuable bioproducts like Bioethanol and Biopolymers. The team has been successful in creating products like cellulose from rice straw, non-alcoholic fermented toddy palm drink, edible mushrooms grown on cheap substrates, analytical grade ultra pure water etc., from environmentally friendly sources.
