Inauguration of CMFT, RUSA 2.0
A Centre of Excellence was established on 15 July 2019 under MHRD-RUSA 2.0 at the Department of Microbiology, Osmania University. CMFT was Inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof S. Ramachandram and dignitaries. Research in CMFT to exploit various microbes and their properties and various strategies to carry out research at the pilot-scale level via fermentation technology has been the main initiative of the centre.
Conferences
On the occasion of successful completion of 25 years of Department of Microbiology, Osmania University and establishment of a new research centre of excellence, Centre for Microbial and Fermentation Technology - Rusa 2.0 MHRD program of Govt. of India. An e-Conference was conducted titled 'Advances in Microbial Biotechnology and Biotherapeutics (AMTB-2020)' on 26-26 March, 2020. It was organized in association with CMFT and AMI-Hyderabad chapter.
Products launch
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. D. Ravinder launched the products developed at CMFT along with their brochures on 21-03-2022. The launch was accompanied by distinguished dignitaries, Prof. P. Laxminarayana, Registrar; Prof. B. Reddya Naik, OSD to VC; Prof. Sriram Venkatesh, Nodal officer-RUSA; Dr C. Srinivasulu, Co-ordinator-RUSA; Prof. B. Veeraiah, Principal, University College of Science; Prof. B. Bhima, Director-CMFT, Head Dept. Microbiology along with his team Dr Hameeda Bee, Joint-Director-CMFT; Dr Chandrasekhar Banoth, PDF; MD. Saddam Hussain and Anil Vashapaka were present.
Brochure release and Webpage launch
The brochure on the Probiotic consortium and Webpage of 'CMFT LAB SERVICES' was launched by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. D. Ravinder on March 21st, 2022 in the presence of distinguished dignitaries.
Events
The “OPEN DAY” for all the departments of Osmania University is scheduled on March 24th, 2022. Taking this opportunity, the Department of Microbiology and CMFT has organized the event with various activities. The products developed will be displayed in the stalls where all the visitors can have a look at the products and explore the activities taking place at the Centre and at the Department of Microbiology.
