Singles & Pairs KO Rules


CMBL Singles & Pairs 2019 Competition Rules - (as at 10/4/21)

1. Competitors must be registered members of the same club competing in the League and registered to play in the League. Players in default of these registrations conditions shall be deemed to have lost their match.

2. The entrance fee shall be decided at the Annual General Meeting.

3. The competitions shall consist of 21 shots in the singles and 21 ends in the pairs. An extra end will be played if required.

4. The challenger, whose name appears first in the draw, must make contact with the opponent to arrange a date and time for the match, giving at least three days’ notice and offering two alternative dates, but not in the same week and on different days.

Dates may be offered on scheduled or rearranged league or KO Shield dates by mutual agreement. All games shall commence at 6.00pm unless mutually agreed otherwise. Any player failing to offer dates or failing to accept the offer shall forfeit the match.

5. In the singles competition the challenger shall arrange for a competent marker.

6. All Green and hire fees shall be paid by the home competitor.

7. The result of the match must be notified to the Competitions Secretary by the winner. The scorecard shall include the names of all players, their competition number and signed by the losing competitor. The scorecard will be forwarded to the Competition Secretary not later than the day following the match. If played within two days of the closing date of the round the Competition Secretary will also be informed of the result by telephone, not later than 10pm on the same day as the match.

8. ln the pairs competition both players must be members of the same club. The two players taking part in the First Tie shall constitute the pairs and shall normally play throughout the competition. One additional, and the same player (from the same club) may however be used as a substitute at any time provided that he/she has not played in the same competition.

9. A player must have played in a minimum of three League games to be eligible to play in the semi-final and final.

10. If any disagreement should arise a complaint must be made in writing to the Competition Secretary and placed before the League’s adjudicating committee for a ruling.

11. In the event of a match not being completed it will be declared null and void and be replayed from the start.

12. Unless otherwise mutually agreed by the competitors and with the permission of the Competitions Secretary the Semi-finals of the Singles and Pairs competitions shall be played on a neutral green.
