I was very surprised and honoured to be asked to be President of the Central Midweek Bowling League. I have been a member of Writtle Bowling Club for some 25 years and joined in the league about 24 years ago and it continues to be an integral part of my bowling life. Bowls to me is about the enjoyment gained in playing competitive bowls but firmly wrapped around the game is the companionship and friendship of both those you play with and those you play against. I have made so many friends in the community of the CMBL. This philosophy directly reflects that of the League and I will continue to foster this in all my bowling experiences.

I sincerely thank the officers and members of Writtle Bowling Club for their support in my taking up the role of President of the CMBL which I am doing in parallel to being President at Writtle – a double opportunity to promote the sport of bowls, working with club, league and the wider bowling community.
