Once the specialty specific EUPA has been passed access is enabled by an automated process that takes 4-6 hours to complete. Logging in to the live patient care system, called production (PRD), is done by navigating to https://myapps.albertahealthservices.ca or by clicking the MyApps icon on the desktop of any AHS computer.
Username and Password - your AHS username and password are also your Connect Care login userid and password
Job - most residents, and some fellows, are setup with multiple jobs to allow them to move between different clinical services during rotations or electives e.g., Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, etc. When you login to Connect Care you first pick the appropriate job that aligns with that clinical service. Senior residents and Fellows are typically have one job and do not have to pick a job at login.
Department - trainees typically login to specialty's zone wide "virtual department" e.g., EDMONTON ZONE NEPHROLOGY OR CALGARY ZONE GENERAL SURGERY. One exception to this is when working in Emergency Medicine as trainees login to the specific emergency department they are working at e.g., EDM WMC UAH Emerg
To ensure a smooth start to your Connect Care experience, it is CRITICAL that you check your log in to Connect Care.
To do so, you will need to:
Complete your EUPA and On Our Best Behavior assessments
Open the Connect Care Production (CC - PRD) environment from My Apps folder https://myapps.albertahealthservices.ca/
On the Hyperspace login screen, enter your AHS username and password.
select the job that matches with your resident specialty as outlined in the Quick Start Guide
In the department screen, enter the appropriate department
Once logged in navigate to the Login Lab screen:
Click the Epic Button in the top left corner
Select "Help"
Towards the bottom select "CMIO Login Labs Info"
Review the information that appears on this screen in boxes labelled:
User Record - confirm you are named here
Provider Record - the name that appears here should match the User Record name.
