Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation Climate Team

The EUUC Climate Team is one of several social justice committees at Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

The committee meets monthly to implement goals set at our annual summer retreat. Goals generally are aimed at educating members of the congregation and the public about opportunities to engage in solutions to the climate crisis.

We train people and facilitate lobbying the legislature to support climate bills. We work to engage people in forest and tree preservation. We work with partners in other organizations to advocate for strong climate policy in local governments. As a committee we recognize that being climate advocates can be hard emotional work. We strive to support each other and uplift the spiritual component of this work. Being part of a larger congregation, which has adopted a strong stand on climate, gives us resources to further our work: a building for events, members to activate and money to donate.
