Some Student Evaluations/Observations…
“I learnt a lot about myself during my trip. I learnt I can be more independent and solve problems myself. This will be a positive skill to take forward in my life as I will be able to be more independent at home and feel more confident to go on future trips abroad.”
“The advice I would give to someone who was thinking of going on a TAITH Project is DEFINITELY GO! It will be an amazing experience from the beginning to the end. From the flight on an airplane to the different foods you can try, seeing how different cultures live, making new friendships and seeing a new country.”
“I would love to participate in another Taith project. It was the best week I have ever experienced in my life.
I would advise people to really put themselves out there and not be shy. I wish I would have done it sooner.”
“This project was a great experience for me. The friendships made were so good that I would love to experience it again and raise more awareness about climate change.”
“I learnt that I can go do things alone even when I'm scared I can do it, I had to face families without knowing what it would be like, and I'm so happy I did it.”
“This trip has impacted my confidence in a positive way because I am a more confident speaker now. In the future I will now apply myself for more opportunities.
I enjoyed the feeling of being independent but still always socialising with friends and new people. I also enjoyed exploring new places within the city with the host family’s.”
“The biggest surprise for me was how similar the Turkish people were as I thought it would be completely different and we wouldn't have any common interests, yet we all ended up getting on great.”
“My biggest challenge was talking to people I did not know as I am shy. I made myself start talking to others and this got easier each time.”
“I really enjoyed this whole week and I would love to do it again. I've learned so much and I have enjoyed every moment with the other students.”
“I learned that we can overcome challenges by being patient and respectful in a teamwork. That is exactly how we overcame the challenges in our group such as time management, disagreements and etc.”
“I grew a lot from this week, not only did I gain confidence in myself, but also gained confidence in French which I never thought would be possible. It taught me to be comfortable with stepping out of my comfort zone with people in France that was very difficult for me. I’m glad that I met all these new people, and this activity taught me that life isn’t only school. It felt like i was really part of a team for once which is rare. I hope more students will be able to live this experience.”
“I was looking forward to seeing Poland. The host families took me to a lot of places which were so beautiful and fun to see. Like the lakes in Slupsk, and the buildings in Gdansk. I was excited to see them.”
“I am really happy that I made good friends from abroad and I really improved my English. If I should give advice to someone who is going to take part in TAITH, it would say don’t be scared to talk, don’t be embarrassed. Because if you talk, you are going to have some of your best memories.”
