When identifying the target audience for our multimedia presentation on the Educational Technology graduate program at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, we decided to focus on undergraduate students interested in pursuing a master's degree. Our intention is to reach students who are exploring their options for a master's program and may need more guidance in choosing the right fit for their interests. We aim to highlight the benefits of joining the Educational Technology graduate program.
According to the Office of Strategic Analysis and Institutional Reporting (SAIR), undergraduate students make up 86.6% of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student population. This was a major reason for choosing this particular audience, as we are seeking to recruit some of these undergraduate students. The target audience consists of both female and male students, with females representing 67.7% and males 32.3%. Additionally, the majority of students are Hispanic, accounting for 91.0% of the student population.
The learning needs and characteristics of the target audience are important considerations in designing the instructional solution. The content will be tailored to support all learning needs. The multimedia presentation will include text, visuals, and closed captions to ensure information is accessible in multiple formats. UTRGV and the Educational Technology graduate program are committed to assisting all students with disabilities by providing any necessary accommodations. The Educational Technology graduate program is always available to offer additional information.
