RECORDING A DEMO
START A RECORDING
Open the webpage where you want your demonstration to begin. Select the ClickPath extension and click “Start new recording.”
Each click is captured as a new visual step, including:
• A screenshot of the visible webpage
• The location of the selected control
• A suggested description of the selected control
• The page title and URL
RECORDING CONTROLS
Start new recording
Begins a new ClickPath project on the active tab.
Capture screen
Captures the current screen without requiring you to click a webpage control. This is useful for informational screens or pages that need additional explanation.
Undo last
Removes the most recently captured step.
Pause recording
Temporarily stops ClickPath from capturing new steps.
Resume on this tab
Continues a paused recording on the currently active browser tab.
Stop & edit demo
Ends the recording and opens it in the ClickPath editor.
SWITCHING BETWEEN TABS
To continue recording in another tab:
Pause the current recording.
Open or select the next browser tab.
Open ClickPath.
Select “Resume on this tab.”
RECORDING LIMITATIONS
ClickPath records the visible webpage area. It cannot capture the following as standard webpage steps:
• Chrome internal pages
• The Chrome Web Store
• Browser toolbars
• The address bar
• Extension popups
• Download prompts
• Operating-system windows or dialogs
For best results, keep the recorded tab active and wait for the page to finish loading before selecting the next control.
