Every seat aboard the new fleet is a great seat. Refashioned with upscale upholstery, the new ergonomic seats will cradle passengers for a relaxing ride. Add to that wider aisles, comfier and cozier escapes.
Leading Canadians Towards a More Sustainable Future
VIA Rail is getting a brand new fleet of trains! That’s right, within a few years we will be welcoming passengers onto 32 state-of-the-art and bidirectional trainsets in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario, where we serve over 4.7 million passengers a year. These new trains will replace our aging fleet while offering Canadians more reliable, comfortable and sustainable travel.
What’s more, the new fleet will have a reduced environmental footprint (thanks to some of the most energy-efficient tech around), producing four to five times less pollution than cars or other modes of transportation.
With a scheduled arrival beginning in 2022, it won’t be long before we’re all sitting pretty in our new fleet!
