A practical teacher guide for developing your introductory video to share with parents, students and visitors using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Developed by: Anna I. Clayton for MDCPS High School
The COVID-19 pandemic showed all of us the importance of being able to share information virtually with parents and students through an online platform when we cannot meet in a traditional setting.
However, not all of us had the skills needed to make a fancy video. But, what if you could use the Microsoft PowerPoint skills you already have to make an informational video for your students?
This lesson will show you how to add content, audio and then save your presentation as a ready to share video!
But, that's not the only way you can use these skills!
How many times have you had to stop your lecture to let students catch up on their notes?
How many times have we asked students who were absent to "copy the notes" from a peer?
How much instructional time could be saved "if only" there was a different way to work on content and notes?
Imagine if you could narrate your class content and assign for homework, so students can take notes at home and practice skills in the classroom! Students who miss class can still receive instruction and you can free up class time for activities!
