Procedure:
Open the Microsoft Template (if not done so already).
Select slide 1: Title Slide
Input your name, course name and room number
(<~~ Need to download template? Click on the file, log into Google and make a copy or CLICK HERE.
Select slide 2: Contact Information
Input your contact information to replace what is on the template.
Be sure to include the following (*optional):
- Your email (MDCPS)
- Office Hours
- Phone number *
- Remind/Edmodo codes *
- Social Media contact *
-Website *
Select slide 3: Parent Conference
Input information on your availability for scheduling parent conferences.
Be sure to include the following (*optional):
- Days, times available
-Methods for scheduling (email, phone call, online
calendar, etc.)
-Encouraging words to promote parental
involvement*
Select Slide 4: About Your Course
Update the information to reflect your course(s).
Be sure to include the following (*optional):
- Course name(s), period(s),
- Class procedures & expectations
Select slide 5: Course Materials
Input information on materials needed to successfully complete your course.
Be sure to list them so it is easy for parents to gather the materials.
If a subscription to a site is needed, be sure to list it and give course IDs or login information.
NOTE: An optional Slide 6 has been added for online resources information. This can be deleted if not needed.
Select Slide 7: Additional Course Information
Update the information to reflect any additional information attached to your course.
Be sure to include the following (*optional):
- Assessment info (FSA, EOC, CTE)
- Important dates
- Any pertinent information that will help parents &
understand how to complete the course objectives.
Select slide 8: Contact Information (Recap)
It is good practice to end your presentation with the contact information and course recap.
You can simply copy and paste your contact information slide, or
Example: Change this one to show a recap of contact and materials needed.
This is the last slide parents/students will see in your video!
REPLACING THE BACKGROUND IMAGES:
NOTE: Sample images have been added to the template, and you may want to replace them with your own.
DOUBLE CLICK anywhere on the image to be replaced and a "Picture Format" menu option will appear.
Select the icon to replace the image. (See below*)
Scroll to "From a File ..." and select your desired image.
It will automatically replace the selected image.
Repeat for each slide until you are satisfied with your presentation.
*Icon to replace image looks like a black picture with a blue arrow.
