ABOUT ME: 

I am professore di 2a fascia (=full associate professor) in Algebra and in History of Mathematics at the DiSAT (nope, there's no Math Department here!) of the University of Insuburra in Como (Italy), and a member of the Faculty Board of the Joint PhD School in Mathematics UniPV - UniMiB - UniCatt - INdAM.

• Qualification: I obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor in Algebra (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale alle funzioni di professore universitario di 1a Fascia nel s.c. 01/A2) in November 2024 .

• Education: I got my PhD in Mathematics in February 2015, jointly at the University of Western Ontario (Canada) and the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy), under the supervision o Prof. Th.S. Weigel and Prof. J. Minac. For my whole CV see here.

• Teaching: in 2025/26 I am teaching three courses for the degrees in Math, and one for the PhD in Math: (a) Algebra 2  for the BSc in Math (2nd year, 8 cfu); (b) Advanced Algebra A (Lie Algebras), for the MSc in Math (6 cfu); (c) the last part of the course History of Mathematics, for the MSc in Math (3 cfu); Restricted Lie algebras and groups, for the PhD in Pure Math (3 cfu).

• Membership: I am a member of GNSAGA (=National Group in Algebraic and Geometric Structures and Applications), part of the National Institute of Advanced Mathematics "F. Severi" - INdAM. I am a member of the Milan Math&Physics Seminar.

MY MATH:

Research interests: profinite (especially pro-p) groups and their cohomology, Galois cohomology, absolute Galois groups, geometric group theory, Lie structures associated to groups, graded algebras; more generally, I'm interested in Galois theory, algebraic number theory, history of Mathematics.
