The Centre adopts a transdisciplinary approach by fostering the co-creation of knowledge between academic researchers and community stakeholders. While drawing on discipline-specific methods (multidisciplinary), we emphasize the integration of perspectives (interdisciplinary) to support collaborative, applied solutions grounded in lived experience (transdisciplinary). We also support the strengthening of expertise within disciplines (intradisciplinary), which enhances methodological rigour and deepens theoretical contributions that inform and enrich cross-disciplinary collaboration.

CJCARE fosters a dynamic and inclusive research culture grounded in mutual respect, open dialogue, and a dedication to advancing and mobilizing knowledge to diverse audiences through interdisciplinary collaboration and critical inquiry. The Centre is deeply committed to mentoring diverse stakeholders, including students, community leaders, early-career researchers, and practitioners, by offering tailored opportunities for professional development, skill enhancement, and capacity building through:
Producing accessible research outputs for diverse audiences,
Hosting workshops, conferences, and public forums,
Partnering with media outlets to amplify findings,
Utilizing innovative dissemination methodologies to maximize public engagement and knowledge mobilization (e.g., social media platforms such as Instagram, X, YouTube, and Bluesky),
Engaging directly with policymakers and other decision-makers to inform practice.
