Reflective Statement
On a daily basis I use Google Forms to ask questions that provide me feedback of what the students recall from the teaching the day before. I must know what the student has retained before I can teach additional content. This assessment is formative. At the end of each module, I use built-in quizzes within the CISCO academy online software. These are summative, as we cannot move beyond the modules unless students know the information, as this content built upon previous knowledge. The hands-on assessments are usually done using Packet Tracer, where students are given a problem they must solve using the tools provided within the module. The final assessment is the Credentialing Exam. If students earn a 675/900, they will PASS / earn the industry certification. If students do not pass the exam, we will review and modify the content, and differentiate for each learner that needs intervention.

I chose these four pieces of evidence to show that I use a combination of formative and summative assessments to closely monitor student progress and to determine their retention rate. Evidence pieces three and four indicate my philosophy on how I think an evaluation of my program should be conducted. I feel that an effective evaluation of the program is one of the most important aspects to student academic success.
