EAP provides a one-time annual benefit that can assist you with the high cost of home energy and can help if you are about to get disconnected.
The Porter County office of the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a free and unbiased counseling program provided by the Indiana Department of Insurance for Medicare beneficiaries in Indiana
The program offers one-time financial assistance of up to $300 that can help community members with rental payments, utility bill payments, household and car repairs as well as medical expenses, including hearing aids, eyeglasses, medications or dental work.
PCACS is a distribution site for the Food Bank of NWI, which is a food relief organization in Northwest Indiana.

LCCS on-demand transportation program helps seniors and people with disabilities to remain independent and live in their homes longer.
***Able to give you a ride within Lake and Porter Counties, if you live in the following Lake County Indiana Townships: Cedar Creek, Center, Eagle Creek, Hanover, Hobart, Ross, St. John, West Creek or Winfield or in the City of Griffith.

The Senior Companion Program is a peer-to-peer program for older adults. The program links Senior Companion volunteers with older adults who would benefit from a friendly visitor.
While the primary purpose is companionship, Senior Companions may also assist with a variety of helpful tasks including light meal preparation, appropriate exercise, respite care for family/caregivers, occasional light housework, and escort to medical appointments.

Delivering as many as two nutritious meals per day, VNA Meals on Wheels helps homebound seniors maintain their independence and their nutritional well-being.
VNA Meals on Wheels serves a hot, nutritious lunch and optional light supper to the homebound, elderly, and individuals with disabilities in Porter County. We deliver Monday through Friday. Hot lunch costs $6.50 per day, hot lunch plus light supper costs $9.10 per day. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
