Gap Year

What is a Gap Year?

Do your research!  Understand what it means to take a true GAP year.

A gap year is a period of time that students use to explore areas of interest.  The gap year does not have to last a full year and is typically taken by students between high school and college.  The most common programs are volunteer service programs and international travel, study, or work programs.

Consider applying to college and deferring your admission for a year. Talk to your counselor about this option. Take all necessary steps (SAT/ACT) if you will be applying to college.
