SPACE-TIME BLOCK CODES WITH CONSTELLATION REARRANGEMENT

This project investigates the performance of the constellation rearrangement scheme when used in conjunction with a space-time block coding system which is suitable for improving the performance of modulation schemes over multiple antenna transmission.

The constellation rearrangement technique can be used in digital communication systems to decrease BER despite a slight increase in the computational complexity of the system. In this work, we have discussed applying the constellation rearrangement strategy in conjunction with the MIMO system as opposed to conventional STBC. We created an augmented signal space by virtually retransmitting the signals by combining the modulation signal spaces, which shows a good spread of the modulation signal points. The simulation results show a significant performance gain concerning conventional STBC.
