During my time as a communications associate for Firefly Inclusion Solutions, a DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) consulting firm, one of my responsibilities included creating social media assets and client-facing marketing collateral through Canva. Developing and executing social media calendars for Instagram and LinkedIn, I produced content that aligned with the firm's branding guidelines and social media strategy.
Below are some samples of the graphics that I designed while in my role at Firefly.
Caption: Welcome to a day in the life at our Next Level Leadership™ Summit!
This past week, our Firefly team and cohort of leaders traveled to Chicago to explore the journey towards personal and organizational transformation. As one of our most coveted events of the year, we wanted to share a sneak peak of our unforgettable experience at the Summit ✨
Stay tuned for more content about our time in Chicago! 👀

Because the whole team worked remotely, I wanted to use this in-person event to create unique content from our usual posts and maximize engagement. This content strategy was aimed to attract future participants for this summit. As a result, this Reel became my top-performing post, achieving approximately 309% more views than average.

In our last session, DEI practitioners, leaders, and champions discussed the challenges we faced in our roles and ways to support each other in the evolving field of DEI.
Taking what we learned from that conversion, swipe through to see what topics we’ll be addressing in our upcoming Roundtable ➡️

Promoting an internal event, I took this opportunity to drive the post's clickthrough rate while simultaneously bringing awareness to our blog about insights from our previous Roundtable event.

As the team took a month-long break that went into the New Year, I took the initiative to re-engage our audience and reintroduce and highlight the team. Leveraging Firefly's brand colors, I ensured the post maintained the reflected professional and cohesive visual identity, strengthening their brand presence.
Caption: Every year on October 11th, we commemorate National Coming Out Day—a day for celebrating the power of being out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and recognizing the struggle that still exists for those who are either out or closeted.
We interviewed some LGBTQIA+ neighbors and colleagues, and we’re honored to amplify their voices on their stories, experiences, and visions for creating a safe and supporting workplace for LGBTQIA+ colleagues.

Repurposing an older blog for National Coming Out Day, we were able to call attention to this important observance while simultaneously promoting old content and driving traffic to the blog on Firefly's website. Emulating their social media strategy and brand voice, I created a post that's informational and easy to read.
Caption: We celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day to honor and support the diversity of Indigenous communities, the first people of the Americas while recognizing their resilience in helping correct a glorified, inaccurate American history.
We invite you to look up your location, so you can learn more about the tribes, nations, and land you stand on. For individuals in regions not represented on the map, take note of how communities have been supplanted over the generations across the world. https://native-land.ca/ (This link is also in our bio!)
Please join us in celebrating these Native communities and their invaluable contributions and support their efforts in the advocacy of Indigenous rights and sovereignty.

The term “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” has only been a recent change and many people still refer to the holiday as “Columbus Day,” so the timing of this post was an opportunity to educate others on the implications of calling the holiday by its old name. The aim of the post is to demonstrate how calling the holiday “Columbus Day” does more harm than good and why it’s necessary to change it to “Indigenous Peoples’ Day.” Moreover, a description to each photo is added to ensure that the person/culture shown isn’t random nor generalized. This sample post demonstrates an example of the content we generally post on Firefly's social media.
