Workshops for Members of Parish Pastoral Council

The Office of Lay Apostolate offers two workshops for members of the Pastoral Parish Council (PPC) and Parish Ministry Leadership. Both are six-hour interactive sessions that aim to empower participants to fulfil their leadership roles in the Parish effectively.

Together In Ministry (TIM) Information Workshop

Mandatory for all members of a parish pastoral council; offered at deanery level only.

Topics:

• Explain the structure and leadership of the Universal Church, the Local Church, the Parish, and the role of PPCs  

• Relate the archdiocesan priorities and volunteer management to the mission of the universal Church

• Provide an opportunity for PPC members to become familiar with the Together in Ministry (TIM) Manual

• Review and renew our commitment to our shared mission

Goal Setting Workshop

Optional; offered at individual parish level only.

Topics:

• How to be leaders who are good stewards of God’s gifts

• The work of our parishes 

• The concept of consensus decision-making

• Visioning the future of our parish

• Setting goals to reach this vision

A Christian's Guide to Defending Life in the Womb: A Pro-Life Study Series

For Churches or communities who would like to run this study. 

This series is designed to run over five weeks, meeting once a week. Sessions begin with a 30 min educational video by one of CCBR’s speakers and continue with small group discussions guided by provided facilitator and participant guides.

THE WILBERFORCE PROJECT

 We have no laws to protect these children during their 9 months in the womb, right up to birth. 

 The Wilberforce Project is a pro-life organization focusing on Alberta politics with the goal of protecting women and children by working to implement a law or regulation governing abortion. 

The Wilberforce Project has been working for the last two and a half years with pro-life candidates, who will promote laws to save lives, so that they win their nomination races for the 2019 provincial election.
