✞ PRAYERS ✞

Basic Christian Prayers

1. The Sign of the Cross

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

2. The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come;

thy will be done of earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil.

3. The Hail Mary

Hail, Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with you.

Blessed are you among women,

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

4. The Doxology

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

5. The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

6. Come, Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.

℣: Send forth Thy Spirit, O Lord, and they shall be created.

℟: And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray. O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, enlighten my heart, to see the things which are of God; Come Holy Spirit, into my mind, that I may know the things that are of God; Come Holy Spirit, into my soul, that I belong only to God. Sanctify all that I think, say and do, that all will be for the glory of God. Amen.

Almighty and ever-living God, you fulfilled the Easter promise by sending us your Holy Spirit. May that Spirit unite the races and nations on earth to proclaim your glory. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

Father in heaven, fifty days have celebrated the fullness of the mystery of your revealed love. See your people gather in prayer, open to receive the Spirit's flame. May it come to rest in our hearts and disperse the divisions of word and tongue. With one voice and one song may we praise your name in joy and thanksgiving. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Father of light, from whom every good gift comes, send your Spirit into our lives with the power of a mighty wind, and by the flame of your wisdom open the horizons of our minds. Loosen our tongues to sing your praise in words beyond the power of speech, for without your Spirit man could never raise his voice in words of peace or announce the truth that Jesus is Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Pentecost Prayer

Spirit of Christ, stir me;

Spirit of Christ, move me;

Spirit of Christ, fill me;

Spirit of Christ, seal me.

Consecrate in me Your Heart and Will, O Heavenly Father.

Create in me a fountain of virtues.

Seal my soul as Your own,

that Your reflection in me may be a light for all to see.

7. Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope. To Thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To Thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, Most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this our exile show unto us the blessed Fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

℣: Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

℟: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

8. Act of Contrition

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.

In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,

I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things.

I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more,

And to avoid whatever leads me to sin.

Our Saviour Jesus Christ suffered and died for us.

In his name, my God, have mercy.

9. Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God

In three divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins

And that he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe these and all the truths, which the holy Catholic Church teaches,

Because you have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived.

Amen.

10. Act of Hope

O my God, relying on your almighty power and infinite mercy and promises,

I hope to obtain pardon of my sins,

The help of your grace, and life everlasting

Through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.

Amen.

11. Act of Love

O my God, I love you above all things,

With my whole heart and soul,

Because you are all good and worthy of all love.

I love my neighbours as myself for the love of you.

I forgive all who have injured me,

And ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

Amen.

12. Angelus

The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,

And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail, Mary, …

Behold, the handmaid of the Lord

Be it done to me according to thy word. Hail, Mary, …

(Genuflect) And the word was made flesh

And dwelt among us. (Rise) Hail, Mary, …

Pray for us, o holy Mother of God

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Pour out, we beseech thee, o Lord, thy grace into our hearts,

That we to whom the message of thy Son was made known by an angel,

May by his passion and death be brought to the glory of his resurrection,

Through the same Jesus our Lord.

Amen

13. Regina Caeli

O Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia!

For he whom you have chosen to bear, alleluia!

Is risen as he said, alleluia!

Pray for us God, alleluia!

Rejoice and be glad, o Virgin Mary, alleluia!

For the Lord is truly risen, alleluia!

God, by the resurrection of your Son, our Lord

You were pleased to make glad the whole world

Grant, we beseech you,

That through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, his mother,

We may attain the joys of everlasting life,

Through the same Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Christ is risen, Alleluia!

He is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

14. The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

15. Act of Consecration to the Holy Ghost

On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer myself, soul and body to You, Eternal Spirit of God. I adore the brightness of Your purity, the unerring keenness of Your justice, and the might of Your love. You are the Strength and Light of my soul. In You I live and move and am. I desire never to grieve You by unfaithfulness to grace, and I pray with all my heart to be kept from the smallest sin against You. Mercifully guard my every thought, and grant that I may always watch for Your light, and listen to Your voice, and follow Your gracious inspirations.

I cling to You, and give myself to You, and ask You by Your compassion to watch over me in my weakness. Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus, and looking at His Five Wounds, and trusting in His Precious Blood, and adoring His opened side and stricken Heart, I implore You, Adorable Spirit, Helper of my infirmity, so to keep me in Your grace that I may never sin against You. Give me grace O Holy Ghost, Spirit of the Father and the Son, to say to You always and everywhere, "Speak Lord, for Your servant heareth." Amen.

Traditional Catholic Prayers

The Confiteor (Penitential Act)

I confess to almighty God

and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have greatly sinned,

in my thoughts and in my words,

in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,

(And, striking their breast, they say:)

through my fault,

through my fault,

through my most grievous fault;

therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,

all the Angels and Saints,

and you, my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

The Gloria

Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace to people of good will.

We praise you,

we bless you,

we adore you,

we glorify you,

we give you thanks for your great glory,

Lord God, heavenly King,

O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,

Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,

you take away the sins of the world,

have mercy on us;

you take away the sins of the world,

receive our prayer;

you are seated at the right hand of the Father,

have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One,

you alone are the Lord,

you alone are the Most High,

Jesus Christ,

with the Holy Spirit,

in the glory of God the Father.

Amen.

The Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed

I believe in one God,

the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,

of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,

the Only Begotten Son of God,

born of the Father before all ages.

God from God,

Light from Light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,

At the words that follow, up to and including ‘and became man’, all bow.

and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,

and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried,

and rose again on the third day

in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory

to judge the living and the dead

and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins

and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great for the Souls in Purgatory

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen.

According to tradition, our Lord promised St. Gertrude the Great, or St. Gertrude of Helfta that 1000 souls would be released from purgatory each time this prayer is said devoutly.

Prayers Given By Mary And The Angel at Fatima (1916)

"My God, I believe, I adore, I trust, and I love Thee. I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee."

Angel's Prayer

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

The Fatima Decade Prayer

O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.

Act of Consecration and Entrustment to Mary

Blessed Virgin Mary of Fatima, with renewed gratitude for your motherly presence we join in the voice of all generations that call you blessed. We celebrate in you the great works of God, who never tires of lowering himself in mercy over humanity, afflicted by evil and wounded by sin, to heal and to save it.

Accept with the benevolence of a Mother this act of entrustment that we make in faith today, before this your image, beloved to us. We are certain that each one of us is precious in your eyes and that nothing in our hearts has estranged you. May we allow your sweet gaze to reach us and the perpetual warmth of your smile.

Guard our life with your embrace; bless and strengthen every desire for good; give new life and nourishment to faith; sustain and enlighten hope; awaken and animate charity; guide us all on the path to holiness.

Teach us your own special love for the little and the poor, for the excluded and the suffering, for sinners and the wounded of heart. Gather all people under you protection and give us all to your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus. Amen.

Prayers for Healing

Prayer for Healing the Sick

Dear Lord of Mercy and Father of Comfort,

You are the one I turn to for help in moments of weakness and times of need. I ask you to be with your servant in this illness. Psalm 107:20 says that you send out your Word and heal. So then, please send your healing Word to your servant. In the name of Jesus, drive out all infirmity and sickness from his body.

Dear Lord, I ask you to turn this weakness into strength, this suffering into compassion, sorrow into joy, and pain into comfort for others. May your servant trust in your goodness and hope in your faithfulness, even in the middle of this suffering. Let him be filled with patience and joy in your presence as he waits for your healing touch.

Please restore your servant to full health, dear Father. Remove all fear and doubt from his heart by the power of your Holy Spirit, and may you, Lord, be glorified through his life.

As you heal and renew your servant, Lord, may he bless and praise you.

All of this, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Prayer for a Sick Friend

Dear Lord,

You know [name of friend or family member] so much better than I do. You know his/her sickness and the burden he carries. You also know his heart. Lord, I ask you to be with my friend now as you work in his life.

Lord, let your will be done in my friend's life. If there is a sin that needs to be confessed and forgiven, please help him to see his need and confess.

Lord, I pray for my friend just as your Word tells me to pray, for healing. I believe you hear this earnest prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you, Lord, to heal my friend, but I also trust in the plan you have for his life.

Lord, I don't always understand your ways. I don't know why my friend has to suffer, but I trust you. I ask that you look with mercy and grace toward my friend. Nourish his spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort him with your presence.

Let my friend know you are there with him through this difficulty. Give him strength. And may you, through this difficulty, be glorified in his life and also in mine.

Amen.

Spiritual Healing

Even more critical than physical healing, we humans are in need of spiritual healing. Spiritual healing comes when we are made whole or "born again" through accepting God's forgiveness and receiving salvation in Jesus Christ. Here are verses about spiritual healing to include in your prayers:

Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. (Jeremiah 17:14, NIV)

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5, NIV)

I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them. (Hosea 14:4, NIV)

Emotional Healing

Another type of healing we can pray for is emotional, or healing of the soul. Because we live in a fallen world with imperfect people, emotional wounds are inevitable. But God offers healing from those scars:

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3, NIV)

Prayer when dying

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul. Assist me in my last agony, and grant that I may breathe forth my soul in peace with you. Amen.

Prayer for Spiritual Communion

At Thy feet, O my Jesus, I prostrate myself and I offer Thee repentance of my contrite

heart, which is humbled in its nothingness and in Thy holy presence. I adore Thee in the

Sacrament of Thy love, the ineffable Eucharist. I desire to receive Thee into the poor

dwelling that my heart offers Thee. While waiting for the happiness of

sacramental communion, I wish to possess Thee in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus,

Since I, for my part, am coming to Thee! May Thy love embrace my whole being in life

and in death. I believe in Thee, I hope in Thee, I love Thee. Amen.

Blessing of St. Benedict Medal

℣ Our help is in the name of the Lord.

℟ Who made heaven and earth.

In the name of God the Father + who made heaven and earth, the seas and all that is in them, I exorcise this medal against the power and attacks of the evil one. May all who use this medal devoutly be blessed with health of soul and body. In the name of the Father + almighty, of the Son + Jesus Christ our lord, and of the Holy + Spirit the Paraclete, and in the love of the same Lord Jesus Christ who will come on the last day to judge the living and the dead, and the world by fire. Amen.

℣ O Lord hear my prayer.

℟ And let my cry come unto Thee.

℣ The Lord be with you.

℟ And with your spirit.

Let us pray: Almighty God, the boundless source of all good things, we humbly ask that, through the intercession of St. Benedict, Thou pour out Thy blessings + upon this medal. May those who use it devoutly and earnestly strive to perform good works, be blessed by Thee with health of soul and body, the grace of a holy life, and remission of the temporal punishment due to sin. May they also with the help of Thy merciful love, resist the temptation of the evil one and strive to exercise true charity and justice toward all, so that one day they may appear sinless and holy in Thy sight. This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.

St. Benedict’s medal in a crucifix | St. Benedict of Nursia (d. 547 A.D.)

The purpose of the medal in any of the above ways is to call down God’s blessing and protection upon us, wherever we are, and upon our homes and possessions, especially through the intercession of St. Benedict. By the conscious and devout use of the medal, it becomes, as it were, a silent prayer and reminder to us of our dignity as followers of Christ.

The medal is a prayer of exorcism against Satan, a prayer for strength in time of temptation, a prayer for peace among ourselves and among the nations of the world, a prayer that the Cross of Christ be our light and guide, a prayer of firm rejection of all that is evil, a prayer of petition that we may with Christian courage “walk in God’s ways, with the Gospel as our guide,” as St. Benedict urges us.

Solemn Blessing of a Cross

℣. Our help is in the name of the Lord.

℟. Who made heaven and earth.

℣. The Lord be with you.

℟. And with thy spirit.

Let us pray.

O Holy Lord, almighty Father, eternal God, bless † this cross that it be a saving help to mankind.  Let it be a bulwark of faith, an encouragement to good works, the redemption of souls; and may it be consolation, protection, and a shield against the cruel darts of the enemy.  Through Christ our Lord.

℟. Amen.

Let us pray.

Bless, + O Lord Jesus Christ this cross by which thou hast snatched the world from Satan’s grasp and upon which thou hast overcome by thy suffering him, who is the prompter of sin, who rejoiced in Adam’s deception at the accursed tree of Paradise.  Here it is sprinkled with holy water.  May this symbol of salvation be sanctified in the name of the Father, + and of the Son, + and of the Holy + Spirit, and may all who kneel and pray before this cross for our Lord’s honour receive health of body and soul.  Through the selfsame Christ our Lord.

℟. Amen.

After this the priest, kneeling before the crucifix, devoutly venerates and kisses it, and others may do likewise.

A Student's Prayer (by St. Thomas Aquinas)

Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator, true source of light and fountain of wisdom! Pour forth your brilliance upon my dense intellect, dissipate the darkness which covers me, that of sin and of ignorance. Grant me a penetrating mind to understand, a retentive memory, method and ease in learning, the lucidity to comprehend, and abundant grace in expressing myself. Guide the beginning of my work, direct its progress, and bring it to successful completion. This I ask through Jesus Christ, true God and true man, living and reigning with You and the Father, forever and ever. Amen.

A Student's Prayer

Loving Father, I stand before You in the midst of confusion and complexities of life. My future sometimes seems distant and unknown. Give me, O Lord, the vision to see the path You set before me. Grant me the courage to follow Your way, that through the gifts and talents You have given me, I may bring Your life and Your love to others. I ask this through Jesus, Your Son and my Brother. Amen.

Prayer for Students

Under thy patronage, dear Mother, and calling on the mystery of thine Immaculate Conception, I desire to pursue my studies and my literary labors: I hereby solemnly declare that I am giving myself to these studies chiefly to the following end: that I may the better contribute to the glory of God and to the promotion of thy veneration among men. I pray thee, therefore, most loving Mother, who art the Seat of Wisdom, to bless my labors in thy loving-kindness. Moreover I promise with true affection and a willing spirit, as it is right that I should do, to ascribe all the good that shall come to me therefrom, wholly to thine intercession for me in God's holy presence. Amen.

Prayer for Students

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love

you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.

Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them with your wisdom and blessings.

Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Furthering Our Mission Today

Most merciful God,

be with us today as we gather together in this place.

As we awoke this morning, we felt the first chill of winter's frost.

Yet, you brought us a beautiful day full of blue sky and the amazing array of colors of the fall leaves.

We are so grateful for the beauty you give to us.

Beauty that is given freely to us, we do nothing to earn it.

Your abundant grace and unconditional love for us is evident all around!

We are indeed blessed!

May all that we do further our Ignatian mission with our co-workers and the students you trust to our care.

May we always feel the protection of your loving arms around us.

Wealth

Lord, if it is not Your will for me to amass wealth, then I don’t want it. If it is not Your will for me to become reputable and well-known for my successes, then I don’t want to. If it is not Your will for me to gain power, then I don’t want it. If it is part of Your will to allow these things so that I may fulfill my purpose, grant me the grace to never stray from You by putting these things before You or Your will for my life. Amen.

GOOD FRIDAY THE PASSION OF THE LORD - STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Concluding Prayer (Fourteen “thank yous”)

Lord Jesus, eternal Word of the Father, you became silent for us.  And in the silence that leads us to your tomb, there is still a word that we want to say to you, recalling the journey of the Stations of the Cross we have traveled with you: thank you!

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the meekness that overwhelms arrogance.

Thank you, for the courage with which you embraced the cross.

Thank you, for the peace that flows from your wounds.

Thank you, for having given us your holy Mother to be our Mother as well.

Thank you, for the love shown in the face of betrayal.

Thank you, for turning tears into smiles.

Thank you, for having loved everyone without excluding anyone.

Thank you, for the hope you instill in time of trial.

Thank you, for the mercy that heals sufferings.

Thank you, for stripping yourself of everything to enrich us.

Thank you, for having transformed the cross into the tree of life.

Thank you, for the forgiveness you offered your executioners.

Thank you, for having defeated death.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the light you kindled in our nights.  In reconciling all divisions, you made us all brothers and sisters, children of the same Father who is in heaven:

EUCHARIST ADORATION AND BENEDICTION

What is Adoration? - stmarymokena.org/AdorationBooklet

The Real Presence - An elementary understanding of Jesus in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist

EXPOSITION

While the celebrant is bringing the Eucharist to the altar the following or other suitable hymn may be sung by the congregation.

ADORATION

During this period there should be appropriate prayers, songs, readings from scripture, and a brief homily to help the congregation focus its attention to the worship of the Lord. It is important to remember that the Eucharist is the "Real Presence" of Jesus Christ.

“Lord Jesus, I thank you for listening to me and for speaking to my heart. I know that you are always with me. Help me to follow you more closely and to love others. Amen”

BENEDICTION

After a period of meditation and reflection the celebrant goes to the altar, genuflects, and kneels. The following or another suitable eucharistic hymn is sung.

Priest/Deacon: You have given them Bread from heaven (P.T. Alleluia)

ALL: Having all sweetness within it (P.T. Alleluia)

Let us pray:

Priest/Deacon: Lord Jesus Christ, you gave us the Eucharist as the memorial of your suffering and death. May our worship of this sacrament of your body and blood, help us to experience the salvation won for us and the peace of the kingdom, where you live with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

ALL: Amen.

The celebrant will then bless all present with the Eucharist.

REPOSITION

When the priest or deacon has blessed everyone he then replaces the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle and genuflects. The following acclamation may be said at this time. This acclamation is called the Divine Praises.

Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament - The Divine Praises - Reposition

Blessed be God.

Blessed be his holy name.

Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man.

Blessed be the name of Jesus.

Blessed be his most Sacred Heart.

Blessed be his most Precious Blood.

Blessed be Jesus in the most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.

Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.

Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception.

Blessed be her glorious Assumption.

Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.

Blessed be Saint Joseph, her most chaste spouse.

Blessed be God in his angels and in his saints.

May the heart of Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored, and loved with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time. Amen.

As the celebrant is leaving the following or another suitable hymn may be sung.

Holy God, We Praise Thy Name

Declarations over your life: Declare Who You Are In Jesus Christ

I am a child of God (Galatians 3:26-27)

For through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

I am redeemed (Ephesians 1:7-10)

In him we have redemption by his blood, the forgiveness of transgressions, in accord with the riches of his grace that he lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight, he has made known to us the mystery of his will in accord with his favor that he set forth in him as a plan for the fullness of times, to sum up all things in Christ, in heaven and on earth.

I am forgiven (Colossians 3:13)

Bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do.

I am justified (Romans 5:1-2)

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access [by faith] to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.

I am sanctified (1 Corinthians 6:11)

That is what some of you used to be; but now you have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

I am a new creature in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17)

So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.

I am delivered from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13-14)

He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

I am led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14)

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

I am kept in safety wherever I go (Genesis 28:15)

I am with you and will protect you wherever you go, and bring you back to this land. I will never leave you until I have done what I promised you.

I am getting all my needs met by Jesus (Philippians 4:19)

My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

I am casting all my cares on Jesus (1 Peter 5:7)

Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.

I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10)

Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.

I am doing all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13)

I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.

I am an heir of God (Romans 8:17)

And if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if only we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

I am an heir to the blessings of Abraham (Galatians 3:29)

And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendant, heirs according to the promise.

I am healed by the stripes of Jesus (Isa 53:5)

But he was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity. He bore the punishment that makes us whole, by his wounds we were healed.

I am declaring God’s Word here on earth (Psalm 119:89)

Your word, LORD, stands forever; it is firm as the heavens.

I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony (Revelation 12:11)

They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; love for life did not deter them from death.

I am walking by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

I am casting down vain imaginations (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

For, although we are in the flesh, we do not battle according to the flesh, for the weapons of our battle are not of flesh but are enormously powerful, capable of destroying fortresses. We destroy arguments and every pretension raising itself against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive in obedience to Christ.

I am bringing every thought into captivity in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:5)

And every pretension raising itself against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive in obedience to Christ,

I am being transformed by the renewing my mind (Ephesians 4:23)

And be renewed in the spirit of your minds.

I am a labourer in the vineyard under the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 20:1-16)

“The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at dawn to hire labourers for his vineyard.  After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard.  Going out about nine o’clock, he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and he said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard, and I will give you what is just.’  So they went off. [And] he went out again around noon, and around three o’clock, and did likewise. Going out about five o’clock, he found others standing around, and said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ They answered, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard.’ When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Summon the labourers and give them their pay, beginning with the last and ending with the first.’ When those who had started about five o’clock came, each received the usual daily wage. So when the first came, they thought that they would receive more, but each of them also got the usual wage.  And on receiving it they grumbled against the landowner, saying, ‘These last ones worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who bore the day’s burden and the heat.’  He said to one of them in reply, ‘My friend, I am not cheating you. Did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage? Take what is yours and go. What if I wish to give this last one the same as you? [ Or] am I not free to do as I wish with my own money? Are you envious because I am generous?’  Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last.”

I am blessing the Lord always and will continue praising Him with my mouth (Psalm 34:2)

I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall be always in my mouth.

I am putting on the mind of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)

For “who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to counsel him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

PRAYER FOR THE NEEDY

Let’s all pray together for guidance and support so that we double our efforts when assisting the brothers and sisters that lack food, medication, spiritual guidance, housing, or anything else required to live what we call a normal life.

“GENEROUS FATHER, As you provide for our needs each day, foster in us, we pray, a greater desire to be generous to those in need. May our compassion for the needy be manifest in our prayers and actions. Through your grace, may we lovingly work to ease the corporal and spiritual poverty around us. Amen.”

Christian unity

Forgiving God, set us free from the painful memories of the past, that wound our shared Christian life. Lead us to reconciliation so that, through the Holy Spirit we may overcome hatred with love, anger with gentleness, and suspicion with trust. We ask this in the name of your beloved Son, our brother Jesus. Amen.

Prayer for Priests

O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep all Your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart where none may harm them. Keep unstained their anointed hands which daily touch Your Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips purpled with Your Precious Blood. Keep pure and unearthly their hearts sealed with the sublime marks of Your glorious priesthood. Let Your holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion. Bless their labors with abundant fruit, and may the souls to whom they have ministered be here below their joy and consolation and in Heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown. O Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us; obtain for us many holy priests. Amen.

St. Therese of Lisieux

“Keep Them, O Lord”

Keep them; I pray Thee, dearest Lord.

Keep them, for they are Thine The priests whose lives burn out before Thy consecrated shrine.

Keep them, for they are in the world, Though from the world apart. When earthly pleasures tempt, allure -- Shelter them in Thy heart.

Keep them and comfort them in hours Of loneliness and pain, When their life of sacrifice For souls seems but in vain.

Keep them and remember, Lord, they have no one but Thee. Yet, they have only human hearts, With human frailty.

Keep them as spotless as the Host, That daily they caress; Their every thought and word and deed, Deign, dearest Lord, to bless.

Prayer for Seminarians

O Jesus, Eternal High Priest, I offer You, through Your Immaculate Mother Mary, Your own Precious Blood, in all the Masses throughout the world, as a petition for graces for all seminarians, Your future priests. Give them humility, meekness, prudence, and a burning zeal for souls. Fill their hearts with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to know and love the Church so that they may always and everywhere speak, act, and think with her, the glorious spouse of Christ. Teach them generosity and detachment from the miserable things of this world; but above all, teach them to know You and love You, the one and only Eternal Priest. Do You, Good Shepherd of souls, hear this my prayer for saintly priests. Amen.

Prayer for Vocations

Heavenly Father, Your Divine Son taught us to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into His vineyard. We earnestly beg You to bless our archdiocese and our world with many priests who will love You fervently; and gladly and courageously spend their lives in service to Your Son’s Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We pray that their lives may be always centered on our Eucharistic Lord; that they be always faithful to the Holy Father; and that they may be devoted sons of Mary, our Mother, in making You known and loved; and that all may attain Heaven. Bless our families and our children and choose from our home those whom You desire for this holy work. We ask this in the Holy Name of Jesus, Your Son, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

More Prayers for the Sanctification of Priests

Consecration to the Holy Family prayer

O Lord Jesus, you lived in the home of Mary and Joseph in Nazareth. There you grew in age, wisdom and grace as you prepared to fulfill your mission as our Redeemer. We entrust our family to you.

O Blessed Mary, you are the Mother of our Savior. At Nazareth you cared for Jesus and nurtured him in the peace and joy of your home. We entrust our family to you.

O Saint Joseph, you provided a secure and loving home for Jesus and Mary, and gave us a model of fatherhood while showing us the dignity of work. We entrust our family to you.

Holy Family, we consecrate ourselves and our family to you. May we be completely united in a love that is lasting, faithful and open to the gift of new life. Help us to grow in virtue, to forgive one another from our hearts, and to live in peace all our days. Keep us strong in faith, persevering in prayer, diligent in our work, and generous toward those in need. May our home, O Holy Family, truly become a domestic church where we reflect your example in our daily life. Amen. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, pray for us!

Prayer of Consecration TO THE HOLY FAMILY

Lord Jesus, Your hidden years with Your Blessed Mother and St. Joseph at Nazareth showed us the beauty of the community of life and love that the family is meant to be. You taught us the value of selfless love, humble obedience, and silent sacrifice. You showed us how to sanctify the daily give-and-take of family life. Today, we, the members of the ____________ family, publicly acknowledge You as the true Head of our family and the King of our home. We pledge ourselves to model our family after the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph of Nazareth. We consecrate to You, Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Your Mother, in union with St. Joseph, our work, our play, our sorrows, and our joys, along with our interior and exterior possessions, including the value of our good actions—past, present, and future. This is the covenant we make with You, Lord. In return, Lord Jesus, we ask You to bless and protect us, keeping us ever faithful to this covenant, and helping us to sanctify our lives by faithfully fulfilling the responsibility of each present moment only for Your glory. Jesus, King of Families, come and reign over our family! Mary, Queen of Families, take possession of our hearts! St. Joseph, Protector of Families, help us to be absorbed in and reflect the love of the Holy Family!

Daily Renewal OF YOUR CONSECRATION

Each day, renew your act of consecration. This helps you to remember and live your commitment in daily life. You can renew your consecration in a variety of ways, such as praying this AFC prayer: All for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, all through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, all in union with St. Joseph.

Prayer for Christmas Dinner

Eternal God, This joyful day is radiant with the brilliance of your one true light. May that light illuminate our hearts and shine in our words and deeds. May the hope, the peace, the joy, and the love represented by the birth in Bethlehem fill our lives and become part of all that we say and do. May we share the divine life of your son Jesus Christ, even as he humbled himself to share our humanity.

Bless us and the feast that You have provided for us, let us be thankful for the true gift of Christmas, your Son. Amen.

Prayer Before Mass |  Prayer of St. Ambrose (before Mass & Communion)

Lord, Jesus Christ, I approach your banquet table in fear and trembling, for I am a sinner, and dare not rely on my own worth but only on your goodness and mercy. I am defiled by many sins in body and soul, and by my unguarded thoughts and words. Gracious God of majesty and awe, I seek your protection, I look for your healing, poor troubled sinner that I am, I appeal to you, the fountain of all mercy. I cannot bear your judgment, but I trust in your salvation. Lord, I show my wounds to you and uncover my shame before you. I know my sins are many and great, and they fill me with fear, but I hope in your mercies, for they cannot be numbered.

Lord Jesus Christ, eternal King, God and man, crucified for mankind, look upon me with mercy and hear my prayer, for I trust in you. Have mercy on me, full of sorrow and sin, for the depth of your compassion never ends. Praise to you, saving sacrifice, offered on the wood of the cross for me and for all mankind. Praise to the noble and precious blood, flowing from the wounds of my crucified Lord Jesus Christ and washing away the sins of the whole world. Remember, Lord, your creature, whom you have redeemed with your blood. I repent my sins, and I long to put right what I have done. Merciful Father, take away all my offenses and sins; purify me in body and soul, and make me worthy to taste the holy of holies. May your body and blood, which I intend to receive, although I am unworthy, be for me the remission of my sins, the washing away of my guilt, the end of my evil thoughts, and the rebirth of my better instincts. May it incite me to do the works pleasing to you and profitable to my health in body and soul, and be a firm defense against the wiles of my enemies.  Amen.

Prayer to Obtain the Grace of All the World's Masses

The Prayer to Obtain the Grace of All the World's Masses should be prayed daily and made known. Our prayers are strongest at the Consecration in Holy Mass (at the raising of Host and Chalice). In eternity, we shall fully realize that it was certainly worthwhile to have assisted at Holy Mass daily. Pray for priests that they may offer the Mass with holy love and reverence.

Eternal Father, we humbly offer Thee our poor presence, and that of the whole of humanity, from the beginning to the end of the world at all the Masses that ever have or ever will be prayed.

We offer Thee all the pains, suffering, prayers, sacrifices, joys, and relaxations of our lives, in union with those of our dear Lord Jesus here on earth.

May the Most Precious Blood of Christ, all His Blood, and Wounds, and Agony save us, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.

Three O'clock Prayer - The Hour of Divine Mercy

The three o'clock hour is the hour that Christ died on the cross. It was at this moment that the gates of Heaven opened up for souls, and according to the Diary of St. Faustina, Jesus said that it is the hour of great mercy. Whatever a soul asks of the Lord at this hour, he will not deny, as long as it is asked with love and trust in His Divine Mercy. This prayer was given to St. Faustina by Jesus to be said at the 3 o'clock hour each day. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is ordinarily prayed afterwards.

You expired, O Jesus,

but the source of life gushed forth for souls

and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.

O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,

envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

O Blood and Water,

which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us,

I trust in You.

Psalm 91 - Prayer for Security Under God's Protection

You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High,

who abide in the shade of the Almighty,

Say to the LORD, “My refuge and fortress,

my God in whom I trust.”

He will rescue you from the fowler’s snare,

from the destroying plague,

He will shelter you with his pinions,

and under his wings you may take refuge;

his faithfulness is a protecting shield.

You shall not fear the terror of the night

nor the arrow that flies by day,

Nor the pestilence that roams in darkness,

nor the plague that ravages at noon.

Though a thousand fall at your side,

ten thousand at your right hand,

near you it shall not come.

You need simply watch;

the punishment of the wicked you will see.

Because you have the LORD for your refuge

and have made the Most High your stronghold,

No evil shall befall you,

no affliction come near your tent.

For he commands his angels with regard to you,

to guard you wherever you go.

With their hands they shall support you,

lest you strike your foot against a stone.

You can tread upon the asp and the viper,

trample the lion and the dragon.

Because he clings to me I will deliver him;

because he knows my name I will set him on high.

He will call upon me and I will answer;

I will be with him in distress;

I will deliver him and give him honor.

With length of days I will satisfy him,

and fill him with my saving power.

Prayer Against Every Evil

The Prayer Against Every Evil is a very powerful prayer in the Church that expels any demonic attachment to a soul by invoking the Precious Name of Jesus. It also breaks attachments to any spells and/or hoaxes that were cast upon a soul, offering complete liberation from the chains of the curse.

Heavenly Father, I love You, I praise You, and I worship You. I thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Who won victory over sin and death for my salvation. I thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit Who empowers me, guides me, and leads me into fullness of life. I thank you for Mary, my Heavenly Mother, who intercedes with the holy angels and saints for me.

Lord Jesus Christ, I place myself at the foot of Your cross and ask You to cover me with Your Precious Blood which pours forth from Your Most Sacred Heart and Your Most Holy Wounds. Cleanse me, my Jesus, in the living water that flows from Your Heart. I ask You to surround me, Lord Jesus, with Your Holy Light.

Heavenly Father, let the healing waters of my baptism now flow back through the maternal and paternal generations to purify my family line of Satan and sin. I come before You, Father, and ask forgiveness for myself, my relatives, and my ancestors, for any calling upon powers that set themselves up in opposition to You or that do not offer true honor to Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Holy Name, I now reclaim any territory that was handed over to Satan and place it under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

By the power of Your Holy Spirit, reveal to me, Father, any people I need to forgive and any areas of unconfessed sin. Reveal aspects of my life that are not pleasing to You, Father, ways that have given or could give Satan a foothold in my life. Father, I give to You any unforgiveness; I give to You my sins; and, I give to You all ways that Satan has a hold of my life. Thank You, for Your forgiveness and Your love.

Lord Jesus, in Your Holy Name, I bind all evil spirits of the air, water, ground, underground, and netherworld. I further bind, in Jesus' Name, any and all emissaries of the satanic headquarters and claim the Precious Blood of Jesus on the air, atmosphere, water, ground and their fruits around us, the underground and the netherworld below.

Heavenly Father, allow Your Son Jesus to come now with the Holy Spirit, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the holy angels and the saints to protect me from all harm and to keep all evil spirits from taking revenge on me in any way.

(Repeat the following sentence three times: once in honor of the Father, once in honor of the Son, and once in honor of the Holy Spirit.)

In the Holy Name of Jesus, I seal myself, my relatives, this room (place, home, church, car, plane, etc...), and all sources of supply in the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ.

(To break and dissolve all satanic seals, repeat the following paragraph three times in honor of the Holy Trinity because satanic seals are placed three times to blaspheme the Holy Trinity.)

In the Holy Name of Jesus, I break and dissolve any and all curses, hexes, spells, snares, traps, lies, obstacles, deceptions, diversions, spiritual influences, evil wishes, evil desires, hereditary seals, known and unknown, and every dysfunction and disease from any source including my mistakes and sins. In Jesus' Name, I sever the transmission of any and all satanic vows, pacts, spiritual bonds, soul ties, and satanic works. In Jesus' Name, I break and dissolve any and all links and effects of links with: astrologers; bohmos; channelers; charters; clairvoyants; crystal healers; crystals; fortune tellers; mediums; the New Age Movement; occult seers; palm, tea leaf, or tarot card readers; psychics; santeros; satanic cults; spirit guides; witches; witchdoctors; and, Voodoo. In Jesus' Name, I dissolve all effects of participation in seances and divination, ouija boards, horoscopes, occult games of all sorts, and any form of worship that does not offer true honor to Jesus Christ.

Holy Spirit, please reveal to me through word of knowledge any evil spirits that have attached themselves to me in any way.

(Pause and wait for words to come to you, such as: anger, arrogance, bitterness, brutality, confusion, cruelty, deception, envy, fear, hatred, insecurity, jealousy, pride, resentment, or terror. Pray the following for each of the spirits revealed.)

In the Name of Jesus, I rebuke you spirit of _________________. I command to go directly to Jesus, without manifestation and without harm to me or anyone, so that He can dispose of you according to His Holy Will.

I thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your Love. I thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering me to be aggressive against Satan and evil spirits. I thank You, Jesus, for setting me free. I thank You, Mary, for interceding for me with the holy angels and the saints.

Lord Jesus, fill me with charity, compassion, faith, gentleness, hope, humility, joy, kindness, light, love, mercy, modesty, patience, peace, purity, security, tranquility, trust, truth, understanding, and wisdom. Help me to walk in Your Light and Truth, illuminated by the Holy Spirit so that together we may praise, honor, and glorify Our Father in time and in eternity. For You, Lord Jesus, are, "...the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6 ), and You "...have come that we might have life and have it more abundantly" (John 10:10 ).

"God indeed is my savior; I am confident and unafraid. My strength and courage is the Lord, and he has been my savior" (Isaiah 12:2).

Amen. Alleluia. Amen.

Consecration to the Holy Family

Act of Contrition (Traditional)

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee,

and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments,

but most of all, because they offend Thee, my God,

Who art all-good and deserving of all my love.

I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more

and to avoid in the near occasion of sin. Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created and You shall renew the face of the earth.

Behold, O Lord, I offer You my whole being and in particular all my thoughts, words and actions, together with such crosses and contradictions as I may meet within the course of this day. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.

Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us.

Prayer for Financial Help

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today to ask for a financial blessing to improve my life. My faith keeps me strong, and I know You will provide for me and the people I love. I do not seek a large sum of money. I do not trouble You for unneeded comforts or luxury. I only ask for enough money to relieve my financial woes and ease this stress. Give me the means to do Your work and spread Your Love. I have so much to give if only I were allowed the chance. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

The Miracle Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come before You, just as I am. I am sorry for my sins; I repent of my sins; please, forgive me. In Your Name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works. I give You my entire self, Lord Jesus, now and forever. I invite You into my life, Jesus. I accept You as my Lord, God and Savior. Heal me; change me; strengthen me in body, soul, and spirit.

Come, Lord Jesus, cover me with Your Precious Blood, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I love You, Lord Jesus; I praise You, Jesus; I thank You, Jesus. I shall follow You every day of my life. Amen.

Mary, my Mother, Queen of Peace, all the angels and saints, please, help me. Amen.

The Holy Family Prayer

The Holy Family Prayer is a prayer to Jesus, Joseph and Mary imploring their blessing, nourishment and protection upon one's own family.

JESUS, Son of God and Son of Mary, bless our family. Graciously inspire in us the unity, peace, and mutual love that you found in Your own family in the little town of Nazareth.

MARY, Mother of Jesus and our Mother, nourish our family with your faith and your love. Keep us close to your Son, Jesus, in all our sorrows and joys.

JOSEPH, foster-father to Jesus, guardian and spouse of Mary, keep our family safe from harm. Help us in all times of discouragement or anxiety.

HOLY FAMILY OF NAZARETH, make our family one with you. Help us to be instruments of peace. Grant that love, strengthened by grace, may prove mightier than all the weaknesses and trials through which our families sometimes pass. May we always have God at the center of our hearts and homes until we are all one family, happy and at peace in our true home with you. Amen.

Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit is a petition to the Holy Spirit for His spiritual gifts of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord, for the purpose of being brought closer to faithful discipleship and Christian perfection.

O Lord Jesus Christ, Who, before ascending into heaven, did promise to send the Holy Spirit to finish Your work in the souls of Your Apostles and Disciples, dare to grant the same Holy Spirit to me, that He may perfect in my soul the work of Your grace and Your love.

Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom, that I may despise the perishable things of this world and aspire only after the things that are eternal,

the Spirit of Understanding, to enlighten my mind with the light of Your truth,

the Spirit of Counsel, that I may ever choose the surest way of pleasing God and gaining Heaven,

the Spirit of Fortitude, that I may bear my cross with You, and that I may overcome with courage all the obstacles that oppose my salvation,

the Spirit of Knowledge, that I may know God and know myself and grow more perfect in the science of the Saints,

the Spirit of Piety, that I may find peace and fulfillment in the service of God while serving others,

the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord, that I may be filled with a loving reverence towards God, and may dread in any way to displease Him.

Teach me, dear Lord, to be your faithful disciple and animate me in all things with Your Spirit.

Amen.

Jesus, Help Me Prayer

The Jesus, Help Me Prayer is a prayer to Jesus for His help in times of trouble, difficulties, temptations, and struggles. In this prayer, we place our trust in Jesus and take shelter in His protection and care.

Jesus, help me.

In every need let me come to you with a humble trust saying:

Jesus, help me.

In all my doubts, perplexities and temptations:

Jesus, help me.

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:

Jesus, help me.

In failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles and sorrows:

Jesus, help me.

When others fail me and your grace alone can assist me:

Jesus, help me.

When I throw myself on your tender love, as my Father and Savior:

Jesus, help me.

When my heart is cast down by failure at seeing no good coming from my efforts:

Jesus, help me.

When I feel impatient and my cross irritates me:

Jesus, help me.

When I am ill and my head and hands cannot work and I am lonely:

Jesus, help me.

Always, always, in spite of weariness, falls and shortcomings of every kind:

Jesus, help me and never forsake me.

Almighty Lord,

before you I come with all my faith,

begging you for comfort in my difficulties.

Do not forsake me, my Lord.

Open your doors,

that your almighty arms will open and close

as you design to give that tranquility that I so desire.

Oh my God!

Receive my supplication from a wounded heart

that is always fighting for me

with your Divine power.

Never let me scramble for want of help.

Almighty Lord,

assist me to find shelter in your celestial bounty forever.

Amen.

The Magnificat

My soul doth magnify the Lord,

And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior,

Because He has regarded the humility of His handmaid:

for behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;

Because He that is mighty

has done great things to me; and Holy is His Name.

And His mercy is from generation unto generations,

on those who fear Him.

He has shown might in His arm:

He hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.

Put down the mighty from their thrones,

and exalted the humble.

He has filled the hungry with good things,

and the rich He has sent empty away.

He has received Israel, His servant,

being mindful of His mercy

As He spoke to our fathers,

to Abraham and to his seed forever.

Amen.

Prayer for the Conversion of Unbelievers

O Holy Spirit of Truth, we beseech Thee to enlighten the minds of unbelievers in the midst of us, to incline their hearts to love Thy word, and to believe the teachings of Thy Church. Give them courage to accept the faith and openly profess it; that they may come into union with Thee and the Father, through Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth forever and ever. Amen.

Our Father...

Hail Mary...

Glory Be...

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is fitting to begin prayer by disposing yourself to receive the gift of prayer and invoking the Holy Spirit, for “we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us” (Romans 8:26).

Breathe into me, Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.

Move in me, Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.

Attract my heart, Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy.

Strengthen me, Holy Spirit, that I may defend all that is holy.

Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy.

(St. Augustine)

You Cannot Serve Two Masters

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I confess from the outset that I am a person with a divided heart. I want to serve you wholeheartedly, to declare that you're my sole master. But mammon has dug its grasping claws into my soul, and it doesn't easily let go. To be honest, there are times when I freely choose to serve mammon. Yes, there are times I want "stuff" more than your kingdom. Forgive me, Lord.

And cleanse me. Renew me. By your Spirit, remake my heart so that I desire you more than mammon. Help me to serve you with singleness of spirit. Teach me to be generous, not just when its comfortable, but also when it costs me something tangible. As I give by your help, may you break the power of mammon in my life.

Take my silver and my gold,

Not a mite would I withhold;

Take my moments and my days,

Let them flow with ceaseless praise,

Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my love; my Lord, I pour

At Thy feet its treasure store.

Take myself, and I will be

Ever, only, all for Thee,

Ever, only, all for Thee.

Amen.

WE ARE FAMILY - Family Prayer

Lord God, we thank you for the gift of family.  We acknowledge that our image and name as family come from you.

We believe that within our family lies a home-made holiness.  We affirm that it is this household of faith that we experience Your presence.  Your forgiveness, and Your love.

We are family. We give thanks to You, for the many joys and blessings that have come to us through our family.

As family, we sometimes feel pain.l And so we offer to You our disappointments, frustrations, and hurts.  Help us to forgive those members of our family, including ourselves, who have caused pain.

We pray for the strength to be a light within our family.  May we open our hearts, our eyes and ears and carry our light to those in need.

God, Creator of the earth and all its people, help us to be mindful that, as members of one global family, we are equal in Your eyes.  Help us to continue to appreciate the diversity of persons in our homes and in our world.  As members equal in human dignity, may we build a better world and proclaim our willingness to be the holy people you call us to be.

Amen

Binding Prayer in Jesus’ Name Against Evil Spirits by Fr. Chad Ripperger

In the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and God,

Jesus, I ask You to render all spirits impotent, paralyzed and ineffective in attempting to take revenge against me, my family, my friends, my community, and those who pray for me and my family.

I ask You to bind all evil spirits, all powers of the air, the water, the ground, the fire, under ground, or wherever they exercise their powers, any satanic forces in nature and any and all emissaries of the satanic headquarters.

I ask You to bind by Thy Precious Blood all of the attributes, aspects and characteristics, interactions, communications and deceitful games of the evil spirits.

I ask You to break any and all bonds, ties, and attachments in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Spiritual Warfare Prayers

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me; Body of Christ, save me; Blood of Christ, inebriate me; Water from the side of Christ, wash me; Passion of Christ, strengthen me; O good Jesus, hear me; within your wounds, hide me; let me never be separated from you; from the evil one, protect me; at the hour of my death, call me; and bid me to come to you; that with your saints, I may praise you forever and ever. Amen.

Breaking Curses

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, by the power of his cross, his blood and his resurrection, I take authority over all curses, hexes, spells, voodoo practices, witchcraft assignments, satanic rituals, incantations and evil wishes that have been sent my way, or have passed down the generational bloodline. I break their influence over my life by the power of the risen Lord Jesus Christ, and I command these curses to go back to where they came from and be replaced with a blessing. I ask forgiveness for and renounce all negative inner vows and agreements that I have made with the enemy, and I ask you Lord Jesus to release me from any bondage they may have held in me. I claim your shed blood over all aspects of my life, relationships, ministry endeavors and finances. I thank you for your enduring love, your angelic protection, and for the fullness of your abundant blessings.

Prayer against Evil

Spirit of our God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Most Holy Trinity, descend upon me. Please purify me, mold me, fill me with yourself, and use me. Banish all the forces of evil from me; destroy them, vanquish them so that I can be healthy and do good deeds. Banish from me all curses, hexes, spells, witchcraft, black magic, demonic assignments, malefice and the evil eye; diabolic infestations, oppressions, possessions; all that is evil and sinful; jealousy, treachery, envy; all physical, psychological, moral, spiritual and diabolical ailments; as well as all enticing spirits, deaf, dumb, blind, mute and sleeping spirits, new-age spirits, occult spirits, religious spirits, antichrist spirits, and any other spirits of death and darkness. I command and bid all the powers who molest me—by the power of God Almighty, in the name of Jesus Christ my Savior—to leave me forever, and to be consigned into the everlasting lake of fire, that they may never again touch me or any other creature in the entire world. Amen.

Denouncing the Occult

Heavenly Father, in the name of your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, I denounce Satan and all his works, all forms of witchcraft, the use of divination, the practice of sorcery, dealing with mediums, channeling with spirit guides, the Ouija board, astrology, Reiki, hypnosis, automatic writing, horoscopes, numerology, all types of fortune telling, palm readings, levitation, and anything else associated with the occult or Satan. I denounce and forsake my involvement in all of them in the name of Jesus Christ who came in the flesh, and by the power of his cross, his blood and his resurrection, I break their hold over my life. I confess all these sins before you and ask you to cleanse and forgive me. I ask you Lord Jesus to enter my heart and create in me the kind of person you have intended me to be. I ask you to send forth the gifts of your Holy Spirit to baptize me, just as you baptized your disciples on the day of Pentecost. I thank you heavenly Father for strengthening my inner spirit with the power of your Holy Spirit, so that Christ may dwell in my heart. Through faith, rooted and grounded in love, may I be able to comprehend with all the saints, the breadth, length, height and depth of Christ’s love which surpasses all understanding. Amen.

Standard Deliverance

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, by the power of his cross, his blood and his resurrection, I bind you Satan, the spirits, powers and forces of darkness, the nether world, and the evil forces of nature. I take authority over all curses, hexes, demonic activity and spells directed against me, my relationships, ministry endeavors, finances, and the work of my hands; and I break them by the power and authority of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. I stand with the power of the Lord God Almighty to bind all demonic interaction, interplay and communications between spirits sent against me, and send them directly to Jesus Christ for him to deal with as he wills. I ask forgiveness for and renounce all negative inner vows that I have made with the enemy, and ask that Jesus Christ release me from these vows and from any bondage they may have held in me. I claim the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, over every aspect of my life for my protection. Amen.

Prayer against Malefice

God, our Lord, King of ages, All-powerful and Almighty, you who made everything and who transform everything simply by your will; you who changed into dew the flames of the seven-times hotter furnace and protected and saved your three holy children. You are the doctor and physician of my soul. You are the salvation of those who turn to you. I beseech you to make powerless, banish, and drive out every diabolic power and presence; every evil influence, malefice or evil eye and all evil actions aimed against me. Where there is envy and malice, give me an abundance of goodness, endurance, victory and charity. O Lord, you who love man, I beg you to reach out your powerful hands and your most high and mighty arms and come to my aid. Send your angel of peace over me, to protect my body and soul. May he keep at bay and vanquish every evil power, every poison or malice invoked against me by corrupt and envious people. Then under the protection of your authority may I sing with gratitude, “The Lord is my salvation; whom should I fear?” I will not fear evil because you are with me, my God, my strength, my powerful Lord, Lord of peace, Father of all ages. Amen.1

Prayer for a Spiritual Canopy

Dear Lord Jesus, please forgive me for all the times I have not submitted to your will in my life. Please forgive me for all my sinful actions, making agreements with the enemy, and for believing the devil’s lies. I now submit to you as my Lord, dear Jesus. Now I break every agreement that I have made with the enemy. Lord Jesus, please send an assignment of angels to remove and bind to the abyss all demons and their devices that had access to me because I believed their lies. I now ask you to establish a hedge of protection around me, over me and under me, and seal it with your blood, Lord Jesus Christ. I now choose to put on the full armor of God and ask that you cleanse me and seal me, body, mind, soul and spirit, with your blood, Lord Jesus Christ. Please have your angelic army bind up and remove all demons, their devices, and all their power from within this protective hedge and have them sent to the abyss. Please have your angels destroy all demonic, occult or witchcraft assignments directed against me. Please have your angels stand guard over me and protect me from all attacks of the enemy. I thank you for establishing an impenetrable shield of protection around me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer Against Trafficking Witches

Dear Lord Jesus, would you please send a special assignment of warring angels to remove all trafficking people from me. Please have your warriors strip these witches of psychic powers, demonic powers and occult powers. Please strip them of magic charms, psychic vision and powers of divination. Please have all their powers and devices destroyed and cast into the abyss. I ask you to bring these people before your throne and bless them with the revelation of who you are and your love and plans of salvation for them. Please show them how they are being deceived by Satan. I take authority over all astral assignments directed against me, and I ask you to establish an impenetrable shield of protection between me and all those who traffic on me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Binding Evil Spirits

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I stand with the power of the Lord God Almighty to bind Satan and all his evil spirits, demonic forces, satanic powers, principalities, along with all kings and princes of terrors, from the air, water, fire, ground, netherworld, and the evil forces of nature. I take authority over all demonic assignments and functions of destruction sent against me, and I expose all demonic forces as weakened, defeated enemies of Jesus Christ. I stand with the power of the Lord God Almighty to bind all enemies of Christ present together, all demonic entities under their one and highest authority, and I command these spirits into the abyss to never again return. I arise today with the power of the Lord God Almighty to call forth the heavenly host, the holy angels of God, to surround and protect, and cleanse with God’s holy light all areas vacated by the forces of evil. I ask the Holy Spirit to permeate my mind, heart, body, soul and spirit, creating a hunger and thirst for God’s holy Word, and to fill me with the life and love of my Lord, Jesus Christ.

Removing Demonic Influence

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, would you please send a special assignment of warring angels to remove and bind to the abyss every demonic influence that has contributed to my sinful behaviors of criticism, impatience, resentment, pride, rebellion, stubbornness, unforgiveness, gossip, disobedience, strife, violence, divorce, accusation, anger, manipulation, jealousy, greed, laziness, revenge, coveting, possessiveness, control, retaliation, selfishness, deceitfulness, deception, dishonesty, unbelief, seduction, lust, pornography, masturbation, idolatry and witchcraft. May your angelic warriors remove and bind to the abyss every demonic influence that has contributed to my physical, psychological or spiritual infirmities of nerve disorder, lung disorder, brain disorder or dysfunction, AIDS, cancer, hypochondria, hyperactivity, depression, schizophrenia, fatigue, anorexia, bulimia, addictions, gluttony, perfectionism, alcoholism, sexual addictions, sexual perversions, attempted suicide, incest, pedophilia, lesbianism, homosexuality, adultery, confusion, procrastination, self-hatred, isolation, paranoia, nervousness, passivity, indecision, doubt, oppression, rejection, poor self-image, anxiety, shame and fear. I arise today through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ and ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit’s gifts of peace, patience, love, joy, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, humility, forgiveness, goodness, fortitude, discipline, truth, relinquishment, good self-image, prosperity, charity, obedience, a sound mind, fulfillment in Christ, acceptance of self, acceptance of others, trust, freedom from addictions, freedom of having-to-control, freedom from shame, wholeness, wellness, health, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and the light and life of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer for Inner Healing

Dear Lord Jesus, please come and heal my wounded and troubled heart. I beg you to heal the torments that are causing anxiety in my life. I beg you, in a particular way, to heal the underlying source of my sinfulness. I beg you to come into my life and heal the psychological harms that struck me in my childhood and from the injuries they have caused throughout my life. Lord Jesus, you know my burdens. I lay them on your Good Shepherd’s Heart. I beseech you—by the merits of the great open wound in your heart—to heal the small wounds that are in mine. Heal my memories, so that nothing that has happened to me will cause me to remain in pain and anguish, filled with anxiety. Heal, O Lord, all those wounds that have been the cause of evil that is rooted in my life. I want to forgive all those who have offended me. Look to those inner sores that make me unable to forgive. You who came to forgive the afflicted of heart, please, heal my wounded and troubled heart. Heal, O Lord Jesus, all those intimate wounds that are the root cause of my physical illness. I offer you my heart. Accept it, Lord, purify it and give me the sentiments of your Divine Heart. Heal me, O Lord, from the pain caused by the death of my loved ones. Grant me to regain peace and joy in the knowledge that you are the Resurrection and the Life. Make me an authentic witness to your resurrection, your victory over sin and death, and your loving presence among all men. Amen.2

Healing Your Family Lineage

Heavenly Father, I come before you as your child, in great need of your help. I have physical health needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs and interpersonal needs. Many of my problems have been caused by my own failures, neglect and sinfulness, for which I humbly beg your forgiveness, Lord. I also ask you to forgive the sins of my ancestors whose failures may have left their effects on me in the form of unwanted tendencies, negative behavior patterns and a predisposition toward sin. Heal me, Lord, of all these disorders. With your help I sincerely forgive everyone, living or dead members of my family lineage, who have directly offended me or my loved ones in any way, or those whose sins have resulted in our present sufferings and disorders. In the name of your divine Son Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I ask you Father, to deliver me and my entire family from the influence of evil. Free all members of my family tree, including those in adoptive relationships, and those in extended family relationships, from every contaminating form of bondage. By your loving concern for us, heavenly Father, and by the shed blood of your precious Son Jesus, I beg you to extend your blessing upon me and my entire family lineage. Heal every negative effect transmitted through all past generations, and prevent such negative effects in all future generations. I symbolically place the cross of Christ over the head of every person in my family lineage and I ask you to let the cleansing blood of Jesus purify every aspect of my family. Send protective angels to encamp around us and administer to us your divine healing power, even in areas of genetic disability. Give special power to our family members’ guardian angels to heal, protect, guide and encourage each of us in all our needs. Let your healing power be released at this very moment, and let it continue as long as your sovereignty permits. Replace all bondage in our family lineage with a bonding of holy family love. May there be an ever-deeper bonding with you, Heavenly Father, through the power of your Holy Spirit, to your Son, Jesus Christ. Let the family of the Holy Trinity pervade our family with its tender, warm, loving presence, so that our family may recognize and manifest that love in all our relationships; in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.3

Prayer for Protection

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for sharing with me your wonderful ministry of healing and deliverance. Thank you for the healings that I have experienced today. I realize that the sickness of evil is more than my humanity can bear, so I ask you to cleanse me of any sadness, negative thinking or despair that I may have picked up while interceding for others. If I have been tempted to anger, impatience or lust, cleanse me of those temptations, and replace them with your love, joy and peace. If any evil spirits have attached themselves to me or oppressed me in any way, I command you, spirits of earth, fire, water, the netherworld, or the evil forces of nature, to depart now and go straight to Jesus Christ, for him to deal with you as he wills. Come Holy Spirit, renew me, fill me with your love, peace and joy. Strengthen me where I feel weak and clothe me with your light. Fill me with your life. Lord Jesus, please send your holy angels to minister to me and protect me from all forms of sickness, harm and accidents. I thank you and praise you my Lord, God and King.

Closing of Deliverance Prayers

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for awakening my sleeping spirit and bringing me into your light. Thank you, Lord, for transforming me by the renewing of my mind. Thank you, Lord, for pouring out your Spirit on me, and revealing your Word to me. Thank you, Lord, for giving your angels charge over me in all my ways. Thank you for my faith in you and that from my innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. Thank you for directing my mind and heart into the love of the Father and the steadfastness of all your ways. Fill me to overflowing with your life and love, my Lord and King, Jesus Christ.

Prayer for Healing

Almighty and merciful Father, by the power of your command, drive away from me all forms of sickness and disease. Restore strength to my body and joy to my spirit, so that in my renewed health, I may bless and serve you, now and forevermore.

Healing Prayer of Surrender

Dear Lord Jesus, it is my will to surrender to you everything that I am and everything that I’m striving to be. I open the deepest recesses of my heart and invite your Holy Spirit to dwell inside of me.

I offer you my life, heart, mind, body, soul, spirit, all my hopes, plans and dreams. I surrender to you my past, present and future problems, habits, character defects, attitudes, livelihood, resources, finances, medical coverage, occupation and all my relationships.

I give you my health, physical appearance, disabilities, family, marriage, children and friendships. I ask you to take Lordship over every aspect of my life. I surrender to you all my hurt, pain, worry, doubt, fear and anxiety, and I ask you to wash me clean.

I release everything into your compassionate care. Please speak to me clearly, Lord. Open my ears to hear your voice. Open my heart to commune with you more deeply. I want to feel your loving embrace. Open the doors that need to be opened and close the doors that need to be closed. Please set my feet upon the straight and narrow road that leads to everlasting life. Amen.

Psalm 511

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you alone, have I sinned, and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass judgment. Indeed, I was born guilty, a sinner when my mother conceived me.

You desire truth in the inward being; therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit.

Healing Prayer of Isaiah 53

Precious Lord Jesus, I thank you for your enduring love. You came into the world to set me free from the power of darkness. You embraced a violent death on the cross to pay the penalty on my behalf. You suffered the scourging at the pillar, taking the sickness of humanity upon your own flesh, so that I could be healed.

I come before you now to place all my sin upon your cross and ask for your precious blood to wash me clean. I place the penalty for my sinfulness, all my sickness, diseases and infirmities upon your cross, and for the sake of your sorrowful passion, I ask to be set free. I accept your sacrifice and receive your gift of reconciliation. I confess your Lordship over every aspect of my life, heart, mind, body, soul and spirit.

Through the power of your cross Lord Jesus, I now resist all forms of sin, sickness and disease. I say to all forms of sickness and disease caused by my own disobedience, that you are not God’s good and perfect will for my life, and I enforce the power of the cross upon you right now.

By the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I command all forms of sickness and disease to leave my presence immediately. Jesus bore my infirmities. He was wounded for my transgressions. By his stripes I have been healed. No sickness, pain, death, fear or addiction shall ever be lord over me again. The penalty has been paid in full. I have been ransomed and redeemed, sanctified and set free. Amen.

Prayer of Reconciliation

Dear Lord Jesus, for the sake of your sorrowful passion, I ask you to forgive all my sins, especially those that have allowed any form of sickness or disease to enter my body and harm my health. I humbly ask you to send forth the Holy Spirit’s gift of conviction and shine the light of truth into the deepest recesses of my soul, so that I may make a complete act of contrition before you now.

Lord Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins, especially for any unknown and hidden sins. I am heartily sorry for having offended you. I ask forgiveness for all the times I have failed to make you Lord over my life. Forgive me for placing false gods before you; bowing down and serving idols; for taking your most holy name in vain and for failing to observe the Sabbath day of rest. Please forgive me for not honoring my father and mother, committing the sin of adultery or abortion, stealing, bearing false witness and coveting my neighbour’s spouse, property and possessions.

Please forgive me for not loving you with my whole heart, mind, body, soul and spirit, for not loving my neighbour as myself and for disrespecting the temple of your Holy Spirit. Please forgive me for not taking better care of my health, for eating unhealthy foods and poisoning my body with chemicals, drugs, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine and any other harmful substance or medication.

Please forgive me for committing the sins of hypocrisy, intolerance, unforgiveness, ungratefulness, disbelief, deception, disobedience, envy, pride, fantasy, fornication, idolatry, impatience, division, dissension, offending others, hard-heartedness, hate, haughtiness, anger, rebellion, gambling, greed, intimidation, jealousy, perfectionism, judgmentalness, lust, legalism, manipulation, resentment, rudeness, sexual idolatry, sexual immorality, sexual impurity, sexual perversion, selfishness, self-centeredness, self-righteousness, self-pity, slander, worry, vanity, worldliness, witchcraft, addictions, dependencies, complaining, gossiping and all other forms of unrighteousness.

Lord Jesus, I ask you to forgive me for all my sins, trespasses and transgressions and to cover all my offenses with your most precious blood. Surround me with your light and penetrate the very depths of my being with your love. Let no area of darkness remain in me, but transform my whole being with the healing light of your infinite love.

Healing Prayer of Command

Precious Lord Jesus, you came into the world to heal our infirmities and endure our sufferings. You went about healing all who were sick and bringing comfort to those in pain. By a simple command you rebuked Peter’s mother-in-law’s fever. You spoke directly to the illness, condemned it for its actions and commanded it to leave her body.

In the same way, Lord, you have called all of your disciples to follow your example. You have given us power over all the works of the enemy and sent us forth to make disciples of all nations. In the healing tradition of the church, and through my obedience to your written Word, I hereby take authority over all forms of sickness and disease that have been attacking my health.

In the name of Jesus, under the power and authority of the Lord God Almighty, I command all forms of demonic illness to leave my body now and go straight to the feet of Jesus Christ. Your assignment and influences are over. I rebuke all pain in the name of Jesus, and I command it to get out of my body right now. I rebuke all spirits of infirmity, nerve disorder, lung disorder, brain disorder, heart disease, AIDS, cancer, hypochondria, fatigue, anorexia, leukemia, arthritis, tumors, abnormal growths, diabetes and all other forms of sickness to leave my body now in the name of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for your healing power. I ask you to send forth your ministering, medical and surgical angels, to repair and restore any damage that was caused in my body by the presence of sin, sickness or demonically influenced infirmities. I ask that you send forth your Holy Spirit and fill me with your love, light, peace and joy. Come Holy Spirit and transform me into the child of God that you intended me to be.

Prayer for a Creative Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from the darkness, I call upon you now to send forth your miracle-working power into every aspect of my being. In the same way that you spoke unto the dust of the ground when you created humankind in your own image, I ask you to send forth your healing power into my body. Send forth your word and command every cell, electrical and chemical impulse, tissue, joint, ligament, organ, gland, muscle, bone and every molecule in my body to come under complete and perfect health, strength, alignment, balance and harmony.

It is through you that I live and move and have my being. With every breath I take, I live under your life-giving grace. I ask you to touch me now with the same miracle-working power that you used when you fashioned me inside my mother’s womb. As surely as you have created me in your image and likeness, you can also recreate me now and restore my health.

Please fill me with your healing power. Cast out all that should not be inside of me. I ask you to mend all that is broken, root out every sickness and disease, open all blocked arteries and veins, restore my internal organs, rebuild my damaged tissues, remove all inflammation and cleanse me of all infections, viruses and destructive forms of bacteria.

Let the warmth of your healing love flood my entire being, so that my body will function the way it was created to be, whole and complete, renewed in your perfect health. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer to the Divine Physician

Dear Lord Jesus, you went about healing all those who were sick and tormented by unclean spirits. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk. You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from the dead.

O Divine Physician, I come to you now in great need of your intervention. I surrender my life and health into your loving hands. I ask you to send forth your healing power into my heart, mind, body, soul and spirit. Remove from me every lie of the enemy and destroy all the word curses that have been spoken against my health.

If I have accepted medical beliefs that I should not have, I ask for your forgiveness and denounce those beliefs right now. I break every agreement that I have made with my sickness and disease. I denounce every symptom of my illness, and I ask to be set free by the power of your truth.

Please send forth your Holy Spirit to renew my mind and cleanse my thoughts. I refuse to bow down and serve the symptoms of my illness any longer. Please draw my attention away from myself, and help me focus on your enduring love.

O Divine Physician, you are the source and strength of my recovery. Show me how to proceed with your plan for my restoration. I surrender my healthcare into your loving hands. Please help me to discern every aspect of my treatment, medications and recovery process, so that my every thought and action conforms to your good and perfect will for my life. Amen.

Prayer for Inner Healing

Almighty and everlasting Lord, I come before you now in great need of your mercy. You are the doctor and physician of my soul. I humbly beseech thee to send forth your healing power into every area of my inner-woundedness. I surrender to you all areas of unforgiveness, especially those hurtful past events where anger and bitterness have been allowed to fester, causing harm to my physical health.

I ask for your grace to forgive every person in my past who has ever hurt me. I forgive my father and mother and ask to be set free from all forms of mental, emotional and psychological ailments. I forgive my brothers and sisters for their sibling rivalry, selfishness and divisiveness that have caused strife within our family. I forgive my friends, coworkers and neighbours for all their harmful actions and the unkind words they have spoken against me.

I forgive my spouse, children and all my extended family members, and I ask for your loving grace to heal all the circumstances where I failed to receive the love, affection, support and respect that I needed. I forgive all those who have violated my sexual purity, and I ask to be set free and washed clean by the power of your purifying love. I forgive myself for my past mistakes and failures, and I ask to be set free from all destructive consequences, guilt, shame and self-condemnation.

I forgive all those in positions of authority, especially those doctors, nurses, healthcare providers, insurance adjustors, paramedics, police officers, government officials, former employers and members of the clergy who have treated me unjustly. I forgive my greatest enemies and those who I have vowed that I would never forgive. I break those vows right now by the power of your name Lord Jesus.

By an act of my free will, I choose to forgive everybody, including the person who hurt me the most. I release my desire to receive an apology, my need to be justified in my actions and my need for others to acknowledge the injustice. I surrender the entire debt of all injuries into your merciful hands, Lord Jesus. I denounce all forms of anger, bitterness and resentment, and I command every evil spirit that has entered my body through the lack of forgiveness to leave now and go straight to the feet of my Lord, Jesus Christ.

Through the power of your Holy Spirit, I ask you Lord Jesus to fill me with your love, peace, patience, kindness, generosity and self-control. May your healing hand rest upon me now as I bless all those who have hurt me. I desire to be kind and compassionate to everyone, forgiving them just as you have forgiven me. I ask for the healing power of your love to flow through every cell of my body and into the lives of those whom I have forgiven. Amen.

Generational Healing Prayer

O Father of mercies and God of all healing, I come before you as your child, in great need of your help. Many of my problems and physical health needs have been caused by my own failures, neglect and sinfulness. Others have been passed down through my family lineage in the form of genetic defects from my ancestors.

I humbly beseech thee Lord Jesus to go back into my past and forgive my parents’ and grandparents’ sins, especially for those sins that have exposed me to genetic and physical defects. I ask you to place your cross between me and my parents and grandparents and cleanse my entire family lineage all the way back to the beginning of time.

Precious Lord Jesus, please look upon my physical and emotional health needs with your great love and mercy. I ask that you send forth your medical angels to minister to every area of my genetic composition. Please heal every infirmity and abnormality in my brain chemistry and all my thought processes where disturbances are present. Heal all the damage caused by my mother’s stress, neglect or abuse when I was being formed in her womb. Please remove all defective and mutated genes and restore my genetic composition back to its original and proper condition.

If my parents’ or grandparents’ sins have exposed me to any form of demonic illness or generationally inherited curses, by the power of the Lord, God Almighty, I take the sword of the Spirit and cut myself free. I command all evil spirits of infirmity, sickness and disease to leave my body now and to be consigned into the everlasting lake of fire. Your assignment and influences are over.

I call forth the heavenly host, the holy angels of God, to surround, protect and cleanse all areas vacated by the forces of evil with God’s holy light. I ask the Holy Spirit to permeate my heart, mind, body, soul and spirit, filling me to overflowing with the life and love of my Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer of Confirmation

Lord, God Almighty, I thank you for protecting me from every form of evil and bringing me the gift of your divine health. I thank you for breaking the chains of oppression and delivering me from every form of sin, sickness, disease and lie of the enemy. I thank you for the powerful name of Jesus to which every knee shall bow.

In the power and authority that you have given me, I say to all addictions, perversions, chemical dependencies, hopelessness, worry, doubt, fear, despair and all symptoms of any such illness that you must submit to the name of Jesus. I cast down every argument and proud obstacle that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. I bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Thank you for giving me your authority over all the power of the enemy. Nothing shall harm me. I call upon a heavenly spirit of praise and worship to fill and guard me against the enemy’s lies. Thank you for your full armor, your name, your most precious blood and your Holy Spirit. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Thank you heavenly Father for all your provisions, for yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, both now and forevermore. Amen.

Prayer for Peaceful Rest

Dear Lord Jesus, as I rest in the comfort of your love, I ask to experience your gentle embrace as you tenderly wrap your loving arms around me. I trust your compassionate care will bring peace to my mind, serenity to my heart and renewal to my spirit.

In your loving embrace, I ask that you grant me a peaceful night’s rest. Please purify my dreams, cleanse my subconscious and wash my thoughts with the purity of your infinite love. Please minister to my heart, mind, body, soul and spirit as I rest in your compassionate care tonight.

Please send forth your protective angels to stand guard over me as I sleep. May your angelic army destroy all curses, hindrances and demonic influences that have been sent against my ability to experience a peaceful night’s rest. I ask that your heavenly host protect me as I stay awake and watch over me as I sleep, that awake I may keep watch with Christ, and asleep, rest in his peace. Amen.

Healing Scriptures

The following scripture passages have the power to bring healing and strength to your heart, mind, body, soul and spirit. Meditate on them day and night. Allow God to speak to your situation through his written Word. Accept the Word of God as if the Lord himself were speaking directly to you. Take what is being said deep into your heart.

Allow your faith to grow to the point where you can command the mountain of sickness, hardship and despair out of your life. For according to Mark 11:23–24, Jesus says, “Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you. So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Emotional Healing Exercise2

1. Spend some time in prayer and ask the Lord to show you if there are any unresolved emotional issues that are causing problems with your health. If the Lord brings to mind some people who have hurt you, ask the Holy Spirit to bring back the fullness of your repressed emotions, so that you can be set free.

2. After you identify a hurtful past event that needs healing, try to separate the situation from everything else that has happened to you. Instead of trying to work through years of emotional abuse at one time, try to isolate one experience and keep working on the situation until it is resolved.

3. Begin the exercise from a prayerful and meditative state of mind. Find a quiet place where you can be alone with the Lord. Make sure you have plenty of tissues and the necessary writing supplies.

4. Picture the person who hurt you in your imagination. Imagine that person can hear everything you are about to say. If the person is deceased, picture them in heaven standing next to Jesus.

5. Begin writing your letter with the words, I’m angry because you hurt me! Tell this person all the ways that he or she has hurt you by his or her careless and disrespectful actions. Keep writing the words I’m angry, over and over again. Release all your anger on paper. Don’t worry about spelling or grammar; just release everything that needs to be said.

6. After you release all your anger, move on to any fears that you may have experienced. How has this person affected your life? Describe how the consequences of his or her careless actions have carried forward into your present-day relationships.

7. After you release any fears or guilty feelings, get in touch with your sadness. Tell this person what you wanted to happen that didn’t. If you’re writing to your father say, I’m sad because I wanted a better relationship with you. I wanted you to treat me like a beloved son or daughter. I wanted your love and support.

8. Conclude your letter with anything else you need to say to this person, and then begin a new letter by picturing the person who hurt you in a completely healed state. Picture them in heaven standing next to Jesus. Imagine this person full of God’s love, and because they are full of God’s love, allow them to offer you an apology.

9. Start your apology letter by saying, I’m sorry for hurting you. You didn’t deserve to be treated like that. I’m so sorry. Please forgive me. Write down all the loving words that you need to hear.

10. Conclude your apology letter with prayer. Release the person who hurt you into the Lord’s hands. Ask Jesus to wash away any negativity that you may have picked up by accepting this person’s abuse. Surrender this person to the Lord, and if appropriate, ask Jesus to break all unhealthy soul-ties.

11. Allow Jesus to speak to you through a closure letter. Accept the Lord’s love and forgiveness. Allow the Lord’s love and forgiveness to flow into your heart and cleanse you of all curses, resentment and negativity.

12. Ask the Lord to show you if there’s anything else that you need to release. Allow yourself to fall into the Lord’s arms and be permanently set free—free to be the child of God the Lord intended you to be.

A Mother's Day Prayer

Good and gracious God,

We thank you today for the gift of Motherhood, brought to perfection in our holy mother, Mary.

We ask you to bless all mothers, who show your face to the world through their love.

We ask you to comfort those who bear the pain of losing a child and those for whom motherhood is a broken dream.

Bless with your peace those who mourn the loss of their mothers or suffer wounds from a mother’s imperfections.

Bless all the women who share a mother’s love with those who are not their children.

Give us a spirit of gratitude for those who have been mothers to us and help us, the children of their bodies and hearts, return the love they have so graciously given.

Amen

THE UNITY PRAYER: FLAME OF LOVE DEVOTION

My Adorable Jesus,

May our feet journey together.

May our hands gather in unity.

May our hearts beat in unison.

May our souls be in harmony.

May our thoughts be as one.

May our ears listen to the silence together.

May our glances profoundly penetrate each other.

May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father.

Jesus said, “Through this prayer, Satan will be blind and souls will not be led into sin.  The Lord explained, “Satan being blind signifies a worldwide triumph of my Sacred Heart, the freedom of souls and a full opening of the road of salvation.”

This is an approved devotion. Has 2 imprimaturs: one for Hungarian language and by Archbishop Chaput for the English language.

Catholic Prayers for Fundraising Events, Meetings, Projects, and More

Many Catholic nonprofit organizations and ministries hold fast to their faith by incorporating prayer into their meetings and projects. This can be a challenge for those not accustomed to praying spontaneously or aloud, and repeated prayers can become rote. Here are some prayers you can use for fundraising events, projects, donor meetings, and more.

Prayer Before a Fundraising Committee Meeting

The staff member who leads the fundraising committee at a Catholic organization often begins the meeting in prayer. A great way to start is by asking God to guide the conversation and direct your actions. One of the most well known Catholic prayers invites the Holy Spirit to do just that.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

-Prayer to the Holy Spirit

You could also open your fundraising meeting with this prayer to God the Father. Written by St. Thomas More, this prayer acknowledges the abilities that God has given you and asks that all your endeavors radiate Christ.

Father in heaven, you have given us a mind to know you, a will to serve you, and a heart to love you. Be with us today in all that we do, so that your light may shine out in our lives. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

-St. Thomas More

Prayer to Guide A Donor Meeting

Many donors to Catholic organizations are also people of faith who make prayer a priority in their lives. The experience of praying with a donor can make a significant impact, as it deepens your personal relationship with them. However you pray together during a donor meeting, be sure to offer the prayer for their intentions, and invite God into your conversation.

Thanks be to you, our Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits which you have given us, for all the pains and insults which you have borne for us. Most merciful Redeemer, Friend, and Brother, may we know you more clearly, love you more dearly, and follow you more nearly, day by day.

-Prayer of St. Richard

Prayer with a donor can also be focused on discerning God’s will, especially if, during the meeting, you will be asking them to consider a commitment to your organization. As this is a decision that should be prayerfully discerned, asking for God’s wisdom and the grace to know His will is especially appropriate.

May it please the supreme and divine Goodness to give us all abundant grace ever to know his most holy will and perfectly to fulfill it.

-St. Ignatius of Loyola

Prayer before Making an Ask

Individual prayer can also be beneficial for fundraising professionals, especially regarding parts of the job that are most challenging—such as preparing to speak with a donor or funder to make an ask. Begin by acknowledging the blessings God has bestowed, and then, with confidence and trust, request what you need, knowing that God is the giver of all that is good.

O God, grant that whatever good things I have, I may share generously with those who have not, and whatever good things I do not have, I may request humbly from those who do.

-St. Thomas Aquinas

Another helpful prayer before an important task, such as a meeting with a major donor, entrusts yourself to God, placing your good and the good of your organization into His loving hands.

Father, I abandon myself into your hands; do with me what you will. Whatever you may do, I thank you; I am ready for all, accept all. Let only your will be done in me and in all your creatures. I wish no more than this, O Lord. Into your hands I commend my soul; I offer it to you with all the love of my heart, for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself, to surrender myself into your hands, without reserve, and with boundless confidence, for you are my Father. Amen.

-Bl. Charles de Foucauld

Prayer before Beginning New Work or a New Project

As a team or on your own, asking for God’s help and presence in your work allows you to begin a new project with the right mindset, helping you focus on what is most important as you offer your work to God. This morning prayer from the Divine Office will center your mind and heart as you begin.

Direct, we beseech thee, O Lord, all our actions by thy holy inspiration, and carry them on by thy gracious assistance so that every prayer and work of ours may begin always from thee and through thee be happily ended.

-From the Divine Office

The traditional Catholic Morning Offering can also be adapted for any new project.

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day [project] for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen.

-Morning Offering

Prayer at the Start of the Work Day

As you begin your workday, you can invoke the intercession of St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus and patron saint of workers. This prayer humbly asks for a diligent work ethic with a steadfast focus on a deeper purpose.

O Glorious Saint Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work in a spirit of penance for the expiation of my many sins; to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God; to work with order, peace, moderation, and patience, never shrinking from weariness and trials; to work above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, keeping unceasingly before my eyes death and the account that I must give of time lost, talents unused, good omitted, and vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God. All for Jesus, all through Mary, all after thy example, O Patriarch, Saint Joseph. Such shall be my watch-word in life and in death. Amen.

-Pope St. Pius X

Prayer of Thanksgiving for Donations and Fundraising Success

Finally, do not forget to turn to God not only in your time of need, but also when you find success. For example, you can echo the praise and gratitude of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in her Magnificat.

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name. He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children forever.

-Luke 1:46-55

You can also turn to the Psalms, which so beautifully express human emotions, while always returning to thank God.

I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will declare all your wondrous deeds. I will delight and rejoice in you; I will sing hymns to your name, Most High.

-Psalm 9:2-3

In all things—our needs, our fears, our joys, and our daily duties—let us remember to turn to God in prayer, trusting that He will guide and bless our efforts.
