Food Bank: The items requested in MARCH they have asked for Canned Peas and Carrots and in APRIL we’ll let you know as soon as possible. The Food Bank bins are in the church beside the stone font, if you wish to drop off donations off during the week the office open on most Tuesdays from 9 to noon and all day on Thursday. Call ahead to make sure. If you find any of these items on sale, please let us know so that we can pass the information on to the rest of the congregation.
Pre-authorized Remittance: One way to ensure that we have enough income to cover our expense is through PAR. Even when we cannot be in church by participating in this program you can help to provide a steady income stream. If you wish to participate in the PAR Program or would like some more information, please talk to Joanne Gilliatt at 905-264-1552.

Lenten Bible Study: Join Fr. Mark Wednesdays during lent to learn about the Armor of God. The sessions are Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm.

The City of Vaughan’s EARTH HOUR event will be held on Saturday, March 28 at City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr. W.) from 4:00 to 9:30 pm. Bring your family and show your support for the planet! If you can’t attend, you can still participate by turning off your lights for one hour beginning at 8:30 pm.
York Central Deanery is hosting a Lay Liturgical Refresher Day on Saturday APRIL 25 at Holy Trinity, Thornhill from, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The theme is THE HEART OF WORSHIP: WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO. The guest speaker will be Lim Swee Hong, Associate Professor of Sacred Music at Emmanuel College and Director of the Master of Sacred Music Programme. If you are interested please speak to Fr. Mark. SPECIAL FAITHWORKS CAMPAIGN In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, one of the strongest hurricanes to ever strike Jamaica, the scale of devastation is staggering, with homes, infrastructure and livelihoods destroyed and half of Jamaica’s houses of worship damaged or destroyed. The FaithWorks Allocation Committee has approved a dollar-for-dollar matching challenge of up to $50,000, with the goal of raising at least $100,000 for relief and reconstruction. Every gift will be matched, doubling its impact, until the challenge is met. This is a short, focused campaign, ending on April 17. FaithWorks invites parishes and individuals to respond promptly and generously. Donations can be made online at FaithWorks.ca and designated to the Bishop’s Appeal for Jamaican Relief and Reconstruction. All funds will be forwarded to Alongside Hope for distribution through its established partners in Jamaica.
Christ Church is Hosting the World Day of Prayer
This year the annual service will take place here at Christ Church on Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 pm. The service has been prepared by the women of Nigeria and their theme is “I Will Give You Rest: Come” Matthew 11:28-30. We hope that you can join us.
