Online Classes and Meetings
If needed, classes may be held remotely, please follow the general guidelines taken outlined in these Center for Academic Success Remote Learning Guidelines for Students. University policies (including the conduct code and policies around discrimination, sexual misconduct, and sexual harassment) still apply in an online learning environment. Behaviors that would not be appropriate in the classroom will not be tolerated online. If you are unable to attend the class in person and you lose internet, then email me as soon as possible. Also email me if loss of internet has the potential to impact assignments or synchronous class.

Course Activity Recordings
If this class meets remotely, then, this class or portions of this class will be recorded by the instructor. These recordings are important in the case of poor internet connectivity, so that all students can access the material. Recordings will be shared only with students enrolled in the course through a private non-publicly accessible forum and will be deleted at the end of the term. You have the option to opt-out of any portion of recorded content without penalty. Please contact Dr. Buchmueller if you would like to discuss opt-out options.
Furman University prohibits the recording of classes by students without obtaining prior, written permission of the instructor, except in cases where Furman permits a qualified student with a documented disability to record classes as a reasonable accommodation. Students are advised of this policy in the Student Handbook. Under no circumstances should recorded classes be used in any way that denigrates and/or decontextualizes the instructor or any student whose class remarks are recorded. Unauthorized dissemination of any recorded classroom proceedings, including distribution for compensation, is strictly prohibited. The improper sharing of recorded material by students or others may constitute a violation of U.S. copyright law and is a violation of campus policy.
