Purpose & Objectives

Introduction to biochemistry from a rigorously chemical viewpoint

Topics include: the chemistry of biomolecules, protein dynamics and enzymology

This course will provide you the tools to:

Master the fundamentals of biological chemistry

Introduction to Reading Biochemical Literature

Learn and apply basic biochemical lab skills

Course Materials

Lehninger Principles of Biochemistry; 8th edition; Nelson & Cox

3-ring binder or a tablet for note keeping

CHM 220 (Bioorganic)- Can be taken as a co-requisite

CHM 240 (Techniques)

BIO 111 (Foundations of Biology)

or by permission of instructor
