The invasive emerald ash borer has arrived. We can’t stop this pest from spreading and killing trees. But we can minimize the damage to our town, roads, power lines, and more – with your help.
This fall, the Chittenden Energy and Climate Committee is seeking volunteers to help with a fun, simple project. We're forming a "Tree Team" to walk Chittenden's town roads, identify ash trees, and map their locations.
Flexible time commitment. Attend a short training in September, then volunteer as much or as little as you like -- on your schedule!
No experience needed. Volunteering is as simple as taking a walk. We'll teach you how to identify ash trees and use town iPads to mark their locations.
Big impact. Dying ash trees can fall on roads, power lines, cars, and even people. The Tree Team will help help our tree warden find and prevent hazards before they happen.
