Welcome to the Chittenden Energy Challenge! How does it work? What's this all about? Read on to get your questions answered.
We're challenging our neighbors to take at least one action that helps to:
Reduce energy use and costs
Shift to cleaner, greener energy sources
Improve the health of our homes and living spaces
Adapt to climate change and reduce our climate impacts
Engage, learn, share, help, and connect locally!
Our grand prize drawing (in September) will include a great set of prizes including an electric lawnmower, air purifier, and electric yard and lawn tools! Stay tuned for a final grand prize list this spring.
We're excited to feature six monthly action themes in 2026, with special prize drawings for those who take and share actions during each month. We'll also be hosting special events and workshops some months. Join us for extra product or supply giveaways and event prizes.

Challenge participants receive one prize drawing entry for every "energy action" they take and share during the Chittenden Energy Challenge (Chittenden Day August 2025-Chittenden Day August 2026). Every entry is eligible for the monthly prize drawings and also entered into the grand prize drawing.
What counts as an energy action? How do you share and get your entry? It's easy.
Attend a Chittenden Energy Challenge event (weatherization or invasive species workshop, Chittenden Energy and Climate Committee meeting, etc.). Sign in to get an entry.
Sign up for our e-news or take the Chittenden Energy Challenge pledge for an entry.
Explore our Action Ideas pages and complete our quick action checklist quizes. Get an entry for each quiz you complete.
Use our Action Form to share any other energy and climate actions you've taken. Report up to five actions for five entries each time you fill out the form.
The grand prize drawing will be held at our final celebration in September, 2026 (date TBA).
