Note: Even after I find out what the Atari Box will be, I'll still keep this page up, but with this webpage fully revamped to have the title of "What I guessed the Atari Box might end up as". The title "What the Atari Box might end up as" might be mentioned somewhere on the webpage, though.
This is what I think the Atari Box could end up as:
A console designed to compete with the consoles from the big console manufacturers with the consoles it would compete against depending on if it's going to be a handheld console or a home console. The Atari Box could even have it's own Virtual Console-like section of an online download store where you could buy classic Atari games (maybe from other systems as well with the correct licenses), possibly with improved features, such as save states and reconfigurable controller mappings.
A piece of software made by Atari. Atari’s CEO Fred Chesnais has said it'll be based on PC technology, but that might just be a plan. The Atari Box might even be a piece of software, possibly some sort of compilation of retro Atari software. On computer platforms, it would be most likely to be released on Steam for digital downloads and DVD-ROM for a release on a physical software format.
An Atari-branded computer, phone or tablet with Atari-branded constent such as software coming with the system, either preinstalled, on a physical format (eg. CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, etc.) or both.
An Atari-branded streaming box or streaming stick a bit like existing streaming boxes or streaming sticks, such as the Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, GameStick, Nvidia Shield TV, Ouya or Roku.
Something like the Atari Flashback 8 Gold in the way it has retro Atari games preinstalled with available enhancements, but even better, possibly in ways such as having ways to add extra software other than SD card, such as USB data storage devices.
More than one of the above, possibly a mix of more than one of the above.
If you have any ideas for what the Atari Box could end up as, please tell me them in the comments and, if I end up thinking the Atari Box could end up as that, I'll put that prediction in my list of things the Atari Box could end up as.
