Jose began his martial arts journey at the age of 13 in 1992 with Sensei Joseph Saldana and Phil Snyder at Zanshin Dojo. In his 30 plus years in martial arts he has competed in several local state tournaments. He started training Kobudo with Sensei Saldana and Snyder learning Hanjo, Bo, Tonfa and Sai and later began training with Hanshi Backetman via zoom classes to further my Kobudo and Iaido. His school now offers Kuniba ha Shito-ryu, kuniba ha Kobudo, and Kuniba ha Iaido to their  students.  He continues to pass the arts that were taught to me by my instructors and hope to continue for many years to come.
